Slim 1800mA Battery?

Not sure why I had first thought it was an 1800... Now that may show improvement if they come out with one of that size, but I agree, cant see the 1650 being $50 worth of boost in power...
 
I heard from somewhere that Mugen batteries are suppose to be really good and they are what they state. I don't know how true that is but some users at xda forums were claiming it a while back.

Ever seen any hard data? I've seen this posted over at xda several times:

It may be that several years ago, Mugen actually did develop or use a process to optimize more battery power in a stock size battery. At least I remember hearing that claim. But I also heard shortly thereafter that the OEMs started using the same process. That was all hearsay from several years ago. I've seen several relatively informal tests debunking these claims from Seidio and Mugen and others but never seen any hard data that backs up these claims. Have you?

I never had any issue with the wall charger and the 2 2600mah batteries I got from china through ebay for my Dinc. What issue have there been.
 
I snagged a pair just to see... Having a spare battery and a way to charge them is worth it... Even if its just the same performance it would be nice have extras....

I'll report back how they perform. They should fit the T-Bolt. Only 1500 mah, but that's better than the stock 1400. I'll be happy if they perform as well as the OEM battery, seeing as how they are $25 for two of them and a wall charger.

This will be a perfect compliment to the media dock once it's released allowing you to charge both extra batteries plus the phone itself at the same time.

I agree with the warnings on that site BatteryBoss Calls Out False Capacity Claims!

HOWEVER, it does seem like he's only talking about shady sources. upon reading the different articles, it seems like he's mainly talking about counterfeit and shady OEM products, and things bought on ebay (from who knows where). If you read "A word on counterfeits" and "An article I wrote on fakes" and the "provocative follow-up" it seems like most of the incorrect ratings are due to fakes from China, etc. In the "follow-up" one, the legit battery originated in Brooklyn, and tested 2150mAh as advertised.

So what does this mean? Perhaps if we just buy from reputable places, (ie, not on ebay or from some no-name distributor who may get their stock from China) -- is it possible that we could be safe?? And get what we ordered?​

No, he was also testing Seidio and Mugen batteries.
 
Alright guys, I recieved my batteries from Amazon (chichiexpress?). These are the ones I referenced in my post above - 2 1500 mah batts for $25.

They are great. They fit perfectly in the t-bolt, so far are lasting just as well, if not better than the OEM battery. They are made by HTC, labled by HTC for the MyTouch, and look exactly like the t-bolts battery. If you want back-up batteries for cheap - DO THIS!! Seriously, two of them for $25 is a deal when the 1600 Seido is $45 for one.

I just saw that the price was raised to $30, still a great deal. They will sell out soon, methinks.

Woot woot!!

Just because it's labeled as HTC doesn't mean it's actually from HTC. Unless it looks like this: HTC Standard Battery for Thunderbolt, myTouch 4G - Android Batteries - Android Central Store

Those ARE NOT real HTC batteries. I don't doubt that they work, I just want to make sure the facts are correct.

So you are telling me that the battery I'm looking at isn't HTC even though it says HTC and looks just like the battery in your link above.

Please tell me how you could possibly know that? I just would like to know how you know...:confused:

Well, for one... HTC doesn't currently make 1500 mah batteries that fit the MyTouch 4G or Thunderbolt. Show me a place that sells legit HTC OEM 1500mah batteries for either of those devices.

I didn't say that the batteries you have don't exist or are complete junk, I'm just saying they are most likely counterfeit HTC batteries and aren't made by HTC.

Go ahead and post pictures of the front and back of your batteries if you want to prove me wrong.

I think noble was referring to these types of non-OEM wall chargers. I have not purchased the above - even tho looks like a smokin deal (seller has 0 feedback too). I will probably wait for the OEM cradle that supposedly has a bay for a separate batt.
