Slim 1800mA Battery?

Hello everyone!

Has anyone heard of an 1800 battery for the TB that is/will be the same size as the stock battery? Something available now or coming out soon? Also, are 3rd party brands good/safe to use in my TB? (I've heard good things about some company that sounds like Seido or something...??).

Right now, the 1600mA one that's out just doesn't seem like that much of a jump, and I definitely DONT want the bulky 2750 one.

I figure with an 1800mA battery and once my TB is rooted (and I can dial down the CPU while it's sleeping/standy), I will start to get decent battery life out f it. :)

It looks like htcexpress.com provides these. I bet that they'll have some for the TB in the next few weeks.

I believe that a 4.3" screen drains more battery than LTE radio itself or CPU. But when combined it's a battery hog.

Im new to the HTC phones, so im curious if any of the 4g Sprint version batteries fit the TB... I have been getting decent life from mine but a little bigger battery that fits in the stock door would be great...

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I went to htcexpress.com, and looked at them. They seem to carry two different types of 1800mAh batteries (sorry, I'm not into the 1600): the RED, and the WHT (or are they the exact same, just different color labels?). However, neither say they are for the TB (only the EVO, Inc, Hero, etc.). Would either of these fit the TB (with stock backplate/cover)? If so, which is the better one, the RED or the WHT (if they are different)?

To all who are confused:

The Evo/Inc battery is NOT the same size as the Bolt battery. Do not buy Evo batteries for your Bolt. Do not buy wall battery chargers for the Bolt. You will be sad.

Ya why HTC can't use the same battery for their phones is completely beyond me. Let's just hope HTCexpress comes out with a 1800+ soon. I will jump on that immediately and I"m sure everyone else who owns a tbolt will too.

Mugen is a popular brand with the car world, Honda in particular . I would gladly buy a battery from them if its proven to fit.

I have the 1800mah batter for my Dinc from htcexpress.com and I will receive my TB on Tues. When I get it I will try this battery out and see if it works. If it does I will post on here and let everyone know.

BTW the 1800mah battery was money well spent for the Dinc. It has increased the time between charges and I can use the phone all day and still have about 35% - 40% of the battery. I can't put my phone down. lol. The only thing that really kills the battery is wifi tethering but that is to be expected.

Noble, I'm getting my first Android phone the TB Fedexed Monday. Since I am so new to the droid world, what do you mean by this statement???

Are you saying not to charge the TB battery using a electical USB charging adaptor and only charge using the computer USB?

Thanks,
Dennis

I think he is just saying dont use the ones for those other HTC products... Those will not work for the TB...

But it does however appear that the Mugen 1800 for the MyTouch WILL work for the TB...Im tempted myself to grab one off Ebay to see if it will... Just not sure I wanna drop 60 bucks on one and it not work... i may wait for an official 1800 for device...

To clarify: Its a 1650 and not an 1800, my mistake...

The EVO battery will not fit the Thunderbolt. The Evo battery is bigger.

It will not fit, it's been gone over numerous times in numerous threads. I have the same 1800 battery and I'm beyond pi**ed that it doesn't fit

Has anyone here confirmed the MyTouch battery as a fit??.. Im ready to spring for one if its so...

Yes, follow the link in post #13. I've also read a post from another person who also confirmed it worked. The contacts are on the opposite side then the Bolt so the only thing is that you have to use the battery with the logo facing down. No big deal.

I don't however think they have a 1800 battery as you stated earlier. They have a 1650 for the mytouch 4g.

Your right.. The one I found on ebay is a Mungen 1650.... Is that much worth $50 bucks though??.. Curious...

I was wondering the same thing. I've decided to hold off and wait for an 1800 to hit the market. I'm getting by okay with the stock battery so I can wait a bit.

My battery life has been fine after the first few days... Im not charging any more than I was my OG Droid with a GB rom....

1) Charge all night and at 0545 Im up and getting ready for work...

2) 0700-0730 Bump charge in car on way to work to make sure green light up...

3) At 1500 usually still at 50-60%... I only charge then if we have an away game or going to an event to make sure to have camera power...

With my regular adult usage Im actually getting better battery than I ever did on Devour, Rommed Ally and for sure the Pro.... The Pro was probably the worst and has the same life issues as all the world editions...

No. So far as I've seen no one has ever demonstrated that these so-called extended life slim batteries really have any higher capacity than the OEM batteries of the same size. All of the objective tests I've seen indicate they have the same or less capacity.

PS: Also don't bother buying tune-up in a bottle for your car.
