Texting issue

Got a problem here. Ran thr RUU from Hboot, worked flawlessly btw, got the Hero reactivated on Sunday. Now only picture messages will come through, not regular texts. It'll send them out no problem.:confused:

What really gets weird is it'll get messages from my evo no problem. both regular texts and picture mail.

Anyone ever run across this one before?:confused:
 
usually the answer is to Flash a Sprint ROM - Update the PRL then flash back...

Try flashing to another ROM - LS or one of Nfinites.....
See if that helps.
Then you can flash back to stock and drive here crazy with its crapyness
 
Only problem with that is, I haven't flashed anything. It's completely stock unrooted. I was wondering if there was any ## fix out there, or something.

The hour and a half I was on the phone with a Sprint tech acomplished nothing. I figured I'd stop in here and check. I'd like to confirm everything is working prior to rooting and flashing a rom. I'll probably just flash Liquid for her, she'll probably not even notice any difference. :D

I'll stop in the local repair store tomorrow and see if they can get it running. Thanks!
 
This might be a dumb question perhaps, but have you updated the profile and PRL to the latest version? That might solve this issue.

I would also try rebooting your handset after updating those two items. That often helps "confirm" the transaction.

Yeah I did those. The tech also did a data profile reset with the ## codes. I just did the latest OTA update, can't remember the version now, I'll see if the thing works tomorrow. If not I'll root and flash a new rom, and see if that fixes it. Last but not least I'll RUU the thing again and take it in. :eek:

The latest OTA update is 2.32.651.2. That contains some minor behind the scenes fixes, the latest radio baseband, the latest PRI, and Sprint Zone.

I think rooting and flashing another ROM is your best bet. That way you have the ability to wipe and format things which might fix your problem.
 
The misses won't like AOSP at this point. She is just starting to learn how an Android phone works. It'd screw her all up! ;)

I'll probbably load Liquid Sense, unless there's another newer sense rom that I missed since I stopped using it.
 
Texting has been resolved. Some kind of network bug around Pittsburgh. I took it in to a store and the tech told me there was a ticket that just closed for the texting.

He also liked the Kings rom I have on the evo! :D
