Help Bluetooth Headset Delayed Answering

Here's the scenario.
Bluetooth headset on, call comes in and I tap the headset to answer, the phone shows the call has been answered and bluetooth shows as ON but the bluetooth headset sometimes rings as many as 3-4 times before any connection between it and the phone is made.
This bluetooth delay also happens if I answer the call via the slide on the phone.

Both the wife and I have LG Optimus M v2.2.1 phones and both of us have the same issue using two different brands of bluetooth headsets, mine is a Motorola H3 and hers is a Plantronics Voyager 510.

Ok, not sure how this got resolved but the wife decided to try out a new Jabra headset and I decided to try her Plantronics Voyager 510 on my phone.
The delayed answering problems are gone and the audio issues she was having with the Voyager aren't there for me.
Technology can be so flaky sometimes.
