Root HTC Evo 4G: Before Rooting

TecMan

Newbie
Hi Friends:

I would like to have my HTC Evo 4g rooted...but...before I will run the procedure...I have the following questions:

1. What is the Sprint Factory ROM?
- Supersonic_3.70.651.1-Odexed_signed_teshxx
- Supersonic_3.70.651.1-Deodexed_signed_teshxx

2. After I run the Rooting Procedure...Can I go back to unrooted again?

3. What will happen when we will have Android 2.3 or 3 for Evo 4G....Can I upgrade my HTC Evo 4G rooted?

Thanks

Yep, frenchy is correct. Just a couple quick notes on the odexed/deodexed difference:

1) *Typically* you need a deodexed ROM to flash mods (themes, etc.) to ROMs, but some custom ROMs/theme/mod combinations have gotten around that. One such example is Mikfroyo 4.6. It's odexed.
2) If you have no intention of flashing (most) mods, and want to stick with something close to stock (if you have the intention of flashing a different ROM at all), stick with odexed, as it's faster (not by much, but the point still stands).
