1700 mAh Extended battery duo!!!

I received my htcexpress batteries yesterday (ordered Monday). I did this on Monday night despite all of the negative attention, I thought "what the hell, live and learn right?". I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the results that I have from today. I unplugged my phone at 7:30 am and its now 8:34 pm and I have 48% left with normal usage on my part.

I have juice defender beta (3.4.8) and my settings other than that aren't really that extreme. Active Sync is always on, its set to update once an hour on everything.

Just thought I would report something, after all day 1 with noticeable results cant help but be a little excited about it. (even though I know there are limitations and I should be hesitant to be excited). Optimism is a good trait though, especially when you spent 45 bucks on something unproven.

I am also on the first day using the 1700mAh battery and it does seem to be an improvement over the OEM. Put the new fully charged 1700 in 8.5 hours ago and am at 75%. This was with little use but still, 25% drainage in 8.5 hours is better then the original battery.

I will create a new thread and get peoples suggestions on performing a fair test to benchmark this 1700mAh battery against the OEM 1400mAh.

That would be great, I hope there is a way to see the actual mAh rating in both the htcexpress battery and the OEM. Hopefully, I will continue to be pleasantly surprised. Thanks!

Also, I just looked at what has been using my battery and my display is by far and away the biggest user (no shock there, even at 33% brightness) at 62%. Everything else was 10% or less.

if you have a widget like battery left it will tell you "how much batter left" so i am going to use that to judge. will report back later this week the results

Im annoyed, for whatever reason i sent my batteries to my old address, about 2 hours north of where i am now. Luckily the people living there now are friends of mine, so they told me they'd sent them too me...but im excited that some of you guys are saying theres an improvement

As I said in an earlier post, I used my phone very little in the past day since I put in the 1700 battery. With that said, here's how its looking after the 1st charge using the wall charger.

It has now been 21 hours 27 minutes since I put the fully charged 1700 in my phone. I am at 55%.

Up Time = 21:27
Awake Time = 1:08

Voice Calls = 43%
Cell Standby = 17%
Phone Idle = 16%
Display = 15%
Wi-Fi = 5%
Android System = 2%
Android OS = 2%

I have spent the weekend in a 3g area. No 4g at all.

The work week will be a much better gauge as to how these batteries perform. The phone will get much more use and I'll be back in a 4g area. From what I've witnessed, 4g is much more draining on the battery then 3g, even if I'm not using the phone.

that is terrible. I got 40 hours on and 5awake yesterday

Ill add my optimistic blurb here as well. Im on my first day with the extended battery. And it certainly seems like its lasting longer than usual. I took it off the charger at 8am-ish, its just about noon, and ive been on it pretty heavily looking at motorcycles for sale, and im at 88%. Ive been exclusively on 4g, and though i realize its only my perception, i cant help but feel i woulda been down in the 70's on my regular battery by now.

what does so far so good mean? what awake and on times are you getting

Exactly. There are many people claiming to get 20 hours of 4G. What they really mean to say is 20 hours of having their phone sitting in an area that has 4G. Big deal. The phone isn't supposed to just drain. Actual usage time is important and the built in battery was meant to be replaced if you do more than just light usage.

The phone was only in use for one hour total. Up time doesn't matter if you aren't using it.

Must admit, I'm getting irritated with these posts. First off, I'm just reporting what I'm experiencing, I'm not saying if its good or bad.

And BS that Up Time does not matter. My phone is pushing 3 email accounts, weather, facebook, and text messages. Those things are always running.

It's looking like I will get around 45 hours of up time and 3 hours of awake time from this first charge. Do not recall getting this from the stock battery. Even on the slowest of days.

But like I said, the work week will be the real test for me as the phone will get used a lot more then it did this weekend.

I agree, I do not understand why people feel the need to be condescending. We are just simply stating what we are observing.

After all, you think others would like to know since we spent the 45 dollars and are providing feedback. Guess we could just stop and let them figure it out for themselves. Oh wait, forums are meant to be beneficial and helpful.

I for one am interested in your observations so please keep them coming. I'm hoping the battery does well and o appreciate you biting the bullet for the day of us.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I got a couple of HTC Express batteries in the past for my Incredible. Now that I'm on the TB, I am considering getting these 1700 batteries as well. Please keep us updated with your results. Thanks! :)

Hmm some people are just here to believe that these batteries are a scam. I live in a 4g area. I went to work 100% charge. I only have htc for sense on and gmail sync on. I I used my phone less then an hour. with in 8 hours I was less then 50% that is with stock battery, with mild usage my battery would have most likely been dead already. I will take any improvement I get over stock battery. A person should not have to shut off half their features or to root the phone and flash a custom rom to get decent battery life. I can root my phone but I am not going to just do it to improve battery life, I will do it when CM 7 is available for this phone.

I welcome any improvements in battery life that this battery brings. Awake time doesn't mean your phone is not doing anything in the background.

I dont know why your getting so annoyed? maybe your mad that someone is getting better or just as good battery life out of a stock battery? I know on my bolt I am on stock battery and I surf the net and play angry birds and other games. Text and so on. I am on 31 hours up time and at 36% left of battery life. I am totally stock with no battery manager nothing. I am surely not gloating or trying to rub it in your face. I am giving my observations of its possible to have good battery life on the stock battery. Why some gets great battery life over others who knows. Maybe there are some bad stock batteries that went out with the phones. I have seen this same problem when the Original droid came out. Some people got great battery life and others seemed like their battery would die as soon as they unplugged the phone.

Every device is setup different somehow at the factory. Its like over in my dakota forum. I can get 16 city and 22 Hwy for gas mileage. While others with the same year and setup as my dakota is lucky to get 12 city and 16 hwy. Its the luck of the draw. I am glad the 1700 batteries are doing you well. I will probably get those batteries for backups. As you never know when you need a spare and I like to be prepared.

no that was with my battery down to 5%.

why are you acting like I am insulting you? Getting 1 hour of on time and being down to 55% is terrible.

Okay, maybe I was taking it a bit personal. But I'm just trying to help those that are debating on buying these batteries.

I just do not get why you think this is so terrible. You guys are ignoring the uptime like it does not matter and it does. Some people are reporting 8 hours of battery life without any on time.

Are you telling me that you can leave your phone on all night while you sleep and you don't get battery drain?

I just don't get your point of view.

Everyones gettin a little but hurt around here...lets try to keep it civil everyone, i submit for everyones entertainment the fanny pack thread

Thanks Cavemansol, I've been keeping up with that one and definitely got a few good laughs from it. Good stuff.
