Root Rooted with CM7... will I get charged for mobile hotspot?

If AT&T see's that you're pulling enough data "out of the norm" for a smartphone, they'll slap you into a $45 4GB tethering plan.

Taking that you're on the 2GB plan already . . .

I wanna use for ps3 and wifi tether doesn't work for that... so will mobile hotspot charge me since I'm rooted with custom rom?

If they switch you to the tethering plan the unltd plan goes away and replaced with the $45 plan ( $25 for the 2gig plan then $20 for the 2gig "tethering" plan)

Well I'm saying ... if I use it smart... is there any difference in the wireless tethering app or the mobile hotspot built in app?

Again, it would depend on your data usage patterns.

Even though you're on the unlimited plan, I believe they can analyze
your data usage in terms of what a ps/3 pulls versus norm for what a
smartphone pulls.

One user claims they can't theoretically SEE you tethering, but looking at the data usage patterns, they can sorta "accuse" you of it.

there was a long thread about that in another forum, can't remember which one.

Nah I'm on the unlimited data plan ...

Okay so ill b sire to use it wisely. Only when Comcast craps out. So mobile hotspot dosnt. "Trigger " to charge me automatically?

As far as anyone knows, mobile hotspot does not automatically "phone home" and tell AT&T you're tethering. However, should they start monitoring your data connection, there are many ways for them to tell you're tethering. My guess is that anyone on an "unlimited" plan that breaks a certain monthly usage threshold (I'm guessing 2GB but maybe lower) gets added to the tethering terrorist watch list. Once they start looking, it's pretty easy for them to come up with irrefutable proof unless you're taking extraordinary measures to conceal your data. If that happens, kiss your unlimited plan goodbye.
