Credited you, compadre. ;)

Anything to help these threads to keep moving and flowing well.

I'm actually leaning more towards upgrading to the 3D now and the main reason is seeing how my current EVO is functioning almost 1 year after getting it. Still love it, but would be much more pleased if I didn't have to worry about as much lag, which I'm thinking will be less of an issue with the 3D and the new dual core processor.

Today is the 11th and there has been nothing new about this (yet). I'm assuming we'll all get "updates" about pre-orders and what not via email, otherwise the "Sign up for updates" button would be pretty useless.

I was a little hesitant to post that website because I know that last year (for the original EVO), it had a lot of mis-information.

I just posted it because it was the only thing that had any indication regarding a release date. I'm just taking that with a grain of salt. I can't imagine pre-orders happening until the "official" release date is announced.

i was at the sprint store today, and i was told june 17 for the launch and around may 15th for pricing information

Sounds about right. Since there were a couple weeks, after initial launch of the original EVO, where people had to wait for re-stocking...June 17 would put it on par with 1 year and a couple weeks after the original EVO released.

Well...this could just be speculation. But I went to the Sprint site to answer another person's question and when I clicked on EVO 4G this is what came up:

This device is currently sold out online. Sprint Stores do have it and we're regularly receiving more.

Could it mean they are no longer stocking them in anticipation of the EVO 3D? Yes, I do see where it says "we're regularly receiving more."

That is normal... they can't keep it in stock

Even after being out for almost a year the evo is still selling like hot cakes, it would be stupid for sprint to stop selling it all together. They need to drop the price down to $99 and release the E3D at $199 so they can keep up that momentum that started with the evo last year.

My guess it will be priced @ $250
Like the epic was original.

But it would be nice if the do :
Shift 99
EVO 150
3D. 199

I've checked multiple times over the past year and it's always said the same thing.

I just think HTC and Sprint didn't plan well enough for the manufacturing. They underestimated the demand. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake with the EVO 3D.

It's unacceptable to not have the product the customers are demanding.

I think HTC and Sprint planned it perfectly, actually. No matter what, there was absolutely no way they could've predicted how popular the EVO would be. If it didn't reach the popularity level that it did, they'd be stuck with an abundance of overstock and decreases their profit margin. The EVO still being in demand now, and difficult to keep in stock, shows them that the brand might have better staying power than any of their devices they've ever had.

Ultimately, any corporations goal is to make sure they have as big a profit margin as they possibly can have. Since the current EVO is still selling well, they'd just have to do market research to see how popular the EVO 3D can actually be and that research will be crucial for projections.

It may be "unacceptable" in your eyes, but you're also not the one that could be risking millions in upfront overhead for an unknown. Unfortunately, that's the HUGE advantage the iPhone has over all the smartphones out there. The demand is extremely high, even if there are people moving to Android phones (from the iPhone). When it comes down to it, I believe that Sprint is more concerned with the majority that would wait for the phone to be back in stock vs. losing the small minority that would be willing to change providers because of the phone being out of stock.

To me it seems as if the HTC event today was to show off the HTC Sensation which shows a great view of Sense 3.0.

It is unacceptable that the demand is still high and supply is still low. They are losing sales because of this. It's hurting them more than it would if they had a stock, since this phone will not be outdated for atleast another year.

Originally nobody can have an accurate assumption, but enough research will give you a ball park figure.

What i am talking about is not when it first came out. I am talking about right now.

I see what you're saying now. Misinterpreted, so that's my bad.

Here's the thing, if I'm corporate mangement at Sprint, it would come down to what limit to set before cutting production on a phone that will eventually be phased out. It's just like car manufcaturers, after a "new" model is released. Even though the newest model may not look as good or drive as well as the model that was available the year before, at some point they have to stop manufacturing in order to concentrate on the newer model. The important thing for Sprint is figuring out when to stop production and how many units would be the cutoff number.

I just hope the supply is better managed for 3D. After all this waiting and teasing i would hate to have it sold out before i can get it.

Since i will be switching from AT&T, i will probably not be able to pre order since i have to port my number.

You may be able to pre-order (at least, I do remember some people pre-ordering the original EVO, that were coming over from another provider).

I could be completely wrong though, but I'm just going based on memory.
