Wow, I hope someone can help. I went to look through my gallery, and it says Please insert an SD card.

WTF!

Does this mean I need to format the card and LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT?!

I sure hope not. Even plugging into the computer, I don't have the option to mount it to view files and folders...

uhhhhhh...tell me its not corrupt or broken or erased or needs formatted.

Easy thing here...make sure your card is plugged in all the way. Roomie got my OG Droid, and he had the same problem. After opening it up, the SD card was pulled out just barely, thus no connection.

Ok, I can breathe again...there's just stuff on there from my D1 and even before that...

I checked and did a reboot...and there she was.

Time to do a back up of the whole card NOW!

I may have overreacted a LITTLE bit :)

But I see all of the contents...just never had that happen before, and lately I had 2 different flash drives say "This drive needs to be formatted..."

Yeah, the fear of losing data is a terrible one. If there is ANYTHING worth saving, back it up often. Even if you feel safe, you're not...especially with flash media.

This kept happening to me until I formatted the card. The phone would keep saying that it didn't have an SD Card inserted. I just put all the contents of my SD Card on my PC, used the phone to format the SD Card, then put all the contents back on my SD Card. I haven't gotten the error since.

If this becomes a repeat problem for you, you may have to format the card.

Alright, well I just backed up the SD card...I will see if the problem persists. Also backed up my two flash cards while I was at it. Thanks for the tips!

Thankfully it seems like his was just a loose card. Don't instill too much fear into him :p
