Root Gingerbread (leaked) camrea quality

Since upgrading to the leaked Gingerbread, the quality of the camera really seems to have taken a hit. Has anyone else noticed this, or does anyone have suggestions?

yeah i've noticed it. I've posted about it once and got no answers. Mine was fine at first. Then about a week into it i started having issues. It is really bad laggy when i take a pic sometimes. and sometimes the orientation is wrong when i pull the image back up from the thumbnail. Currently i'm just living with it.

I've taken quite a few picture since installing the leak and haven't noticed anything different as far as picture quality.

I have noticed myself, for an 8 mp camera, it doesn't take very good pictures indoors unless you have a lot of light which in turn makes it's nice bright flash useless.

I did notice some lag issues on the previous leak(4.5.573) but no lag so far with the latest Gb leak. And the picture quality doesn't seem to have improved any. At least on mine it hasn't. All in all I would have to say yes. The picture quality on GB does seem to be a bit worse than stock froyo.

these are two of the pictures I've taken on the GB leak... now granted they aren't the GREATEST quality, but I feel that a) for a camera on a phone, they are damn good and b) they are on par with any pictures I have taken when I was on FroYo

The picture of the cheetah was taken in full zoom (which IMO tends to blur it just a tad)
The picture of the bird was about half zoom

Overall, I think it is a lighting issue, and maybe some lag. Outdoor pics do seem to look great (see above post), but my indoor pics are turning out really bad. I don't remember this being an issue w/ Froyo.

Did the official Verizon GB release drop yet? Anyone compare the camera on there?

no official OTA yet, just two leaks
and these pictures were taken with the most recent leak

I've noticed the camera's flash seems to shut off a fraction of a second before the sot is taken, causing the shot to be dark. Is there an adjustment that can be made?

Id recommend dropping a few bucks and get vignette! I noticed that when using the stock camera it wouldn't focus right but in vignette it does. Definitely worth buying imo.

i've had this happen. I can take a pic and the first one is too dark cause the Flash misfired, i can immediately take the same exact pic and it looks 5 times better...although i had this issue on Froyo also.

Concerning Quality: Mine have been really good in quality, i'm just having lil nit picky issues.

Aggie12, I took your advice and got Vignette but now my phone is restarting every time I take a picture. What gives?
