Root Flashed Rosie Launcher - Stuck in boot loop...

Recently, I installed a version of Rosie Launcher that I didn't like, so I got the version that came with BAMF 1.5 Remix (Which I'm using...). After flashing, I am not getting past the HTC screen. Seems like it formatted everything? Not quite sure how to get past this....after doing some searching, I'm unable to find anything.

Something else to note, I have the new version of the radio on my SD Card, so when I get into hboot, it asks me to upgrade that right away, I can't do anything to get around that, if that is what I even need to do.

When you hold the power button and volume down you should be able to get into Hboot and then select recovery. It should only ask you to flash the zip if you select Hboot from the options, even then it should tell you to press volume up to flash, and I believe power button to cancel.

This is why you should always remove any P5IMG.zip from the root of your SD card right after you flash it. Once you get into recovery you will be able to restore a back up, you did make a back up right?

I did make a back up, but at one time I tried to restore to it, got an MD5 error. Not sure what that was about. Created it by going into Rom Manager, selecting backup and giving it a name. Then it spent the next 10 minutes backing up.

I do the Power + Volume down and once I get to the white hboot screen, it starts doing it's check. I will have ot start deleting those zips after I'm done with them, for this reason. I can take the SD card out, plug it into my computer and home and remove the file no problem at least.

I'm really not interested in saving any data at this point. Apps can redownload. If I put the BAMF 1.5 zip on my sd card, could I theoretically go into hboot, load recovery, format everything, reload the ROM?

Yes you could do that. I would suggest that actually since your back up seems to be corrupt. I would suggest making back ups in CWM and not using Rom Manager, I have seen a few reports of this from backup made in RM.

Key thing here is, don't panic... You are not bricked (not even close) and this can be fixed. Deep breathes young padawan, we will get you back up and running.

for what its worth, the checking its doing wont hurt you... you can let it read the file and check it... you will be then presented with an option to update or not. you can chose no,then select recovery.

if you dont have a rom on your sd card to flash, you can remove it and put in an adapter as you said,or you can just get into recovery, then advanced options, then toggle usb on. this will mount your card to your pc in recovery so you can delete the file, and put a rom on to flash,if needed.

good advice here, youll have your phone back in no time :) and i agree 100% about rom manager. ive seen it do all sorts of terrible things to people, lol. you really are much better off using revcovery to flash, wipe, backup etc. :)

edit: ignore what i said above :o i just put the radio file back on my phone and tried it... selecting no to the update only gives you the option to reboot, wich does you no good. so looks like sticking your sd card in the pc is the best way out of your predicament. delete the PG05IMG and then you can get into recovery and fix it :)

Yeah, I've learned now about Rom Manager after reading some reports. Newb mistake by me.

Thankfully, once I saw I could get into hboot, I was happy...just couldn't fix it at work. Who doesn't love screwing with their phone on company time?! But yeah, I've got the ROM downloaded and on the card...time to fix this baby up.

Thanks for the help gang. You rock.

LOL, who flashes ROMs at work?!? (looks at self, oh yea.... me... :P )

And no problem, I know what it is like when you get that first "Oh my god what have I done!?!" Moment. I've had plenty, like I said as long as you stay calm and ask for help if you need it, you will be fine. We call it learning :)

One thing that does bother me, though, is you guys say I could have just skipped the "updrade" in hboot and gone straight to recovery. Every time I told it I didn't want to upgrade, it prompted me to reboot and nothing else. I wonder if I was doing something wrong or if it's that file specific....

Hmmmm that is interesting... If you want the truth, I've never had to skip the upgrade option in hboot. I just know that it gives you that option when you are upgrading through hboot. I just figured it would take you back to the main menu.

Not sure if it was you, something with the file, or if that is what it does when you skip it.

Anyone else here tried this? Can you shed some light on it for us?
