Is update failing because I deleted some stock apps? If I do a factory reset, will it update successfully?
AFAIK, you can't delete stock apps unless you're rooted. AFAIK, if you're rooted, you can't update. AFAIK, factory reset only removes things you've added to stock. It can't restore things you've deleted.
A number of posts have made reference to a download that will enable you to restore to stock. That's what you'll need.
