I downloaded Wireless Tether and I'm trying to tether my Color Nook to the Ascend. Does anyone know how that can be done, if at all?

you can try this, go to settings in the NC and make sure wireless under your device settings is turned on. As soon as you charge your new NC and go thru the registration process it should pick up your wireless automatically.

It's not picking up the Ascend though so I'm wondering if there is something you need to do on the device you are trying to tether.

If you get it working, you won't have to watch videos on a 3.5 inch screen. Lol

I think you're right. I can't figure out any way to do an ad-hoc connection (heck, I don't even know what it is).

Ad-Hoc is a simple connection between 2 devices, as opposed to an Infrastructure connection, the type you get if you're connecting to a wireless router/access point. The closest comparison I can think of is sharing files via pre-torrent P2P apps as opposed to getting them via HTTP or FTP download. One can only serve a single person at a time, while the other is managed and can serve many at once.
