Help Inc 2 Calling and Texting Issues

RadYOacTiVe

Android Expert
One of my coworkers ordered the Incredible 2 on Friday and got an email from sales rep saying there is an issue with the phone adding a 3 digit sequence to the beginning of the phone number when calling or texting. The email goes on to say: codes lead us to think that it is a global/SIM card issue in which the bugs are not worked out yet. Verizon has not yet recognized this as a known issue, nor do they have any solutions. It is a 50/50 chance of the phone having the issue, in which we will only know once the phone is active and you dial or text.

I read through the boards but did not see this issue.

Has anyone noticed this on their phone and thought it was a glitch?

Hi RadYO! I just picked up an Inc 2 and I do not have this problem. (Still love the Droid Pro, by the way!) Just gotta have an HTC phone too. I haven't really decided if I'm going to keep it, but so far, it's great.

Hi JK!

It looks like the same issue. Seems that the phone wants to put a country code at the beginning of the number as if dialing an international number. Doesn't seem to affect many phones. It would seem if this were a huge problem these and other boards would be filled with complaints.

Glad youre still liking the Pro, that was an all time fave of mine.

I know it's early, but most comments I've read so far have been positive. I had an Incredible early on, and this Incredible 2 is a subtle, but noticeable improvement.

Yes - there is just something about the Pro. Maybe it's the keyboard or the size... not sure, but I like it a lot. I'm sure I'll keep it for a while. Are you still liking the Thunderbird?

Sorry for straying off topic, folks.

Told my buddy to go ahead with his order. Doesn't sound like it's a big enough of an issue and the few reviews i've read don't mention it either. Thanks for everyone's input!

The TB has its quirks but the speed is amazing and I'm waiting for the new update today! It seems you go through phones as fast as I do. If you decide you want to sell one, let me know!

I have had 2 of those phones and the demo unit at our local branch do this. Verizon is sending me a new phone that should be here tomorrow to see. If that doesn't work i am done with HTC and will go to the fascinate. If i deleted the contacts and dialed from the pad it would dial fine, but anything from the contacts would add 00151 in front of the number and fail the call.

I am having this problem as well. One of my local friends also has the issue. The local Verizon store took down the display unit for now. Crazy! I don't want to give up this phone as I really love it. I cannot live with this however.

Seems to be an issue related to this phone and certain calling areas. If people go out of their home area, it works without the issue. Verizon says a patch is coming, but they don't know when.

Has your status on this changed. I spoke with Verizon Friday night after getting two of these phones where both did this and they conferenced me with HTC. It is now a known issue but they said they had no idea how long it would take to resolve it. I live outside of Louisville.

I still have the issue. I live outside of Louisville as well. I know 3 other people in this area, all with the issue! Verizon called me 3 times last week giving me updates and asking me questions. They have not called since Thursday. I will call them tomorrow.

I plan to wait for an update because I love the phone.

Set up my buddy's Inc2 on Friday and have not seen the issue nor has he complained about anything.

This is the phone the original DINC should have been! Be nice if it had 4G, i'd probably go with the 4" screen instead of the Thunderbolt.

I am considering this phone for my renewal on the 21st. So, let me see if I get this right, if the phone I get has this problem it won't dial out or text out to my contacts at all? I just want to be sure because the first thing I'm going to do is make sure it doesn't do this before I even walk out of the store. If I'm forkin up dough it's going to work.

Thanks for this forum though. It's really handy for researching. :D

This problem is limited to the Louisville Metro area from what I can tell. I have no idea what the fix is, but an employee at the HH Gregg on Preston HWY was able to fix it for me. I ended up getting rid of the device anyway, but if you're happy with it besides that issue, take it there, and get it FIXED!

Change national number length to 7 in assisted dialing, and it will solve the problem!

Two days ago HTC said they had no fix, and neither did verizon. I hope this isn't just a temp fix, but hey- ITS FIXED!!

Which is nice because I didn't want to go back to Incredible 1
