Case (and screen protector) opinions

I just received a silicone slip-on style case I got for cheap off e-bay. It's pretty slim and nice looking, but I can't help noticing how it detracts from how sleek and stylish the desire s is 'naked' (I had the phone for a few weeks before the case arrived) so am unsure whether I'll keep it on.

Was wondering what other people's opinions are. Do you think a case is necessary? The aluminium case does seem pretty sturdy anyway. What are you guys using (if anything)?

Thanks for any comments - I'm new to Android and thiso forum.

I bought a genuine HTC leather pouch for mine, its quite good and gives the phone more protection when in your pocket, the only problem with it is the top of the pouch is open so dust gets on top of the phone even when in pocket.

I'm also going to buy either a hard case or gel case but not sure which would be best.

Also has anyone got any tips for applying screen protectors, I have tried 4 times now but there's always air bubbles and I can't get rid of them, or a spec of dust will suddenly stick to the sticky side, its so annoying!

I got HTC screen protector with phone an dont have problem with responce. Initially I had a crystal clear case but got a HTC leather one to protect it a but more when I have to put it in my trouser pocket, this also allows me to use tailored car holder.

I've got a mofi pouch. I think pouches are good for this phone rather than cases. I use a screen protector too. The pouch is five pounds

The HTC screen protectors are by far the best, in terms of responsiveness and clarity, and they don't smear nearly as much as some of the cheaper ones. I also have a Case mate barely there case. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and is very sturdy.

Hello,

I got myself HTC screen protector SP p530 for HTC Desire S from ebay. I am not happy with the quality. There is a vertical line which is recognizable especially with the white background screen.

I have complained the seller so they will send me another pack but I guess case mate screen protectors are better quality (and expensive).

I am not planning to buy a silicon case or barely there case but get a pouch. I have to check some shops before ordering from ebay.

Any brands to pay attention?

When applying the screen protector, its best to peel the backing off as you apply it.
either start from the top or bottom of the phone. make sure the screen is imacculately clean, then roll back the backing as you lay it down onto the face, using a sqeegy as you go.
(imagine the backing folded back on its self) pull the backing up as you lay the protector down.
I always do it this way, and mine are on where you cant see it. :)
