Root New To Ally

Psychv4

Newbie
Alright. So I'm new to the LG Ally. I was messing around with a MotoFlipside before, but just this morning i threw it at the wall.. so it was KIA. now then my gf gave me her LG Ally to root it and what not.

So far Ive figured out how to root the phone and i've been deleteing all the bloatware. Now I want to know the next step as to what i should do. the phone is on 2.2
I want to be able to flash roms and kernels. but i dont fully understand how. ive been reading into it but i would love to have someone explain it a little better. so im not going off of scattered fragments of information

So any sort of help would be much appreciated. thank you.

I am not be responsible for the following/but not limited to:
You brick your phone
You damage the phone.
It doesn't work for your phone
You smash your phone from frustration
You drive over your phone from frustration
You throw your phone against the wall
You drop it in the toilet
Your computer crashes
You get hit by a car
You get hit by bird crap
Your girl/boyfriend dumps you
You get robbed in the middle of the night
In a nutshell I am not responsible for anything that happens following this guide.

Next as you seem be new to the whole wonderful world of root..... I want to make sure you understand that this could potential brick your phone.....I would highly recommend that you do some research first....... and remember just cause its stuck in a bootloop don't mean its bricked......If you don't know what brick means I don't think your ready......

I would suggest that you use SOC as its the easiest way to root...... Kingofgreen and others may disagree with me but since you are new this will provide the "easiest" way to ensure you wont brick the phone. Yes there is still a possibility that you will brick it but.....
[APP]SuperOneClick v1.9.1 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App) - xda-developers

I don't mean to come off rude..... and I do apologize if I did its just my personality I am referred to as abrasive.

First off.... that was totally uncalled for.......... there is more than way to root an ally and what is your reasoning behind not using SOC? let me guess you loose fastboot......BFD first off you can install it and look at all the forums it is not required..... So I wish you would keep your opinions to yourself keep an open mind....this debate has been going on since the beginning of time( when SOC first came to life). SOC is for people that are techie challenged..... you may be more advanced but some users as this seems to be wouldn't know all the tricks we all know how to get out of a root brick jam...... so again before you bad mouth a way to root do some research......

If that wasn't the reason then what is it I love to debate on this stuff hehe

I used SOC and still have fast boot. As for the question about whick rom to use I suggest Frunisher 1.0. Left me with tons of space on internal memory and works perfect. I myself have haz ZERO problems with it.
