Root indulge root issues

Rooting won't do anything to speed up your phone. Not really. You may be able to delete a few apps that are running in the backround but it won't spped things up appreciably. Leastwise mine didn't, but I just "froze" my bloatware.
No, root is for control of your phone.

What are you trying to do specifically that is going slow? Or is it basically everything? Sometimes clearing the applications caches helps. I like the app Quick App Manager for this.
But the processor on the Indulge, at 1gz, is pretty darn fast. Not to many faster.

Do you not know anyone with a home computer or laptop that can help?
Where do you live?

My Indulge always runs fast and smooth and I've extended the average battery life from 6-8hrs to 12-16hrs without the need for charging. (it depends on how much I'm on the net)
First off, if you're not using it...shut it off. Pull down the top menu and shut off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Go to your apps and find "Task Manager". Tap the "RAM manager" tab at the top and then click both "Level 1" & "Level 2" and then hit "Clear memory". I do this every time I'm done doing something and I'm about to put my phone down or away for an extended period of time.
Then go to "Settings > Accounts & sync" and shut off "Background Data", unless you're truly in love with constant email, Facebook, and whatnot updates; you can do all that shi....stuff manually.

The coup de grace is the "Any Cut" app. Go to the Android Market (you'll have to turn your Background Data back on for this) and download the "Any Cut" app. Once it's installed make a shortcut for the "LTE Function Test". Open the shortcut and hit "TURN OFF". Now you've shut off your 4G. It'll turn itself back on every time you make or receive a phone call, so you'll have to turn it back off again.

If you do all of this, your phone should run a lot smoother and quicker and you should save a lot on battery life.

PEACE!!!

I'd rather swap batteries. That's been my argument all along. I know I can shut everything off, but why should I? That means I have to turn it all back on when I need it.
I know, call the whaaaambulance. But really, I'll swap batteries thanks.

It keeps going off because you're simply losing connection. If you download the Any Cut app and hit TURN ON and it stays on, it might be your phone. But when I'm in a very dense tall building and my 4G goes off and I hit TURN ON, it would go on for a few seconds and then go off, because the signal isn't strong enough.

About turning everything off, I agree that it sucks but there's nothing else you can do without an extended battery. A Metro rep told me that Samsung is making an extended battery and a snap-on case to fit it, but I trust them as much as I trust a telemarketer trying to sell me a timeshare in Boca Raton FL.

Someone needs to write a script that turns on the 4G when you open your browser app and shuts off the 4G when you close it.

I asked my contact at Samsung again and he said no plans to release an extended battery. I don't know if it's true or not.
He may have been afraid I'd quote him. But I did ask him this question again on Monday. Inexplicable to me why they won't.

Dreaman1800 dude stop puking all over the forum. You aren't five years old and we aren't your parents so nagging wont get you anywhere.

If you don't own a computer or have access to one why did you buy a 350$ phone?

For those who use anycut to toggle the 4G on and off how much longer would you say you added to the battery life?

My phone works great except I could sure use more battery life ...real pain having to make sure it's charge being my job requires me being outside over 80% of the workday.

Anyway I installed anycut and will see what happens .

Thanks
