Well, if you want to see noticeable difference, remember that the AnyCut method will return 4g after every phone call or text message. So if you forget to set it again, you're toast.
However, you can completely disable the 4g radio altogether by using the shortcut **583385## on the dialer.
It will open an app with three huge buttons. tap the one that says CDMA mode, and restart your phone.
You are locked in 1x until you repeat those steps and select "global" mode.
Just a word of advice, do NOT select LTE only mode, because that would disable your voice calls, seeing as metro voice is over CDMA, not LTE. That mode, I reserve to test 4g availability only, and don't leave it for long, cause you WILL miss ALL phone calls if you do.
Oh, and to help you remember those digits, you can just spell out instead **LTEETL## on the keypad, or create a contact call LTE Switch. Whenever you tap on 583, it will display at the top, select it and BAM!, you're in the Nw select mode.
EDIT: just noticed I still didn't answer your question.
With the **583385## method, my battery life is now around 2 days+, or 1 1/2 day with moderate use.
With just AnyCut, battery life was about 10~14 hours...
