Anyone else having trouble getting the phone to wake during a call? I'm not sure if I'm just missing a setting somewhere, but the only way to get the screen back up during a call is to hit the 'end key', but that also simultaneously ends the call... it's a bit of a bother trying to get through services that require input (banking, VM, and such)
I'm I missing something somewhere, or do I need to just try a new reflash?

Hit the menu button to wake the screen and that should solve your problem.

I press the menu button when the screen goes off. Also, there is a setting in the call setting menu to keep the screen on for longer when in call. I believe there is a setting to use the end button to turn the screen back on and not end the call but i forget where that setting is.

Ahh, the menu button, I hadn't tried that... I was used to hitting the end key to wake from the stock Sense. I'll make a call and give that a try, thanks guys!

I've had that happen to me before with third party charging cables. Are you using the charger that came with your phone or a different one?

Is the charger you are using the original charger? I bought one on ebay for cheap and I think it is the wrong amps or volts or something but when I tried it the phone would not respond to my touch input correctly or jump around real weird. So if its an after market charger that would be the only idea I have for that.

And there is a newer version of asop posted a page back by donb in post #836 from 4/29.

I'm experiencing some things that I haven't before. Mostly, anything phone related stops working randomly. I can't make or receive calls or texts. I have to put it in airplane mode and bring it out in order to work. If that doesn't work I have to reboot.

The other thing is after rebooting sometimes the phone goes into "safe mode" and everything that isn't stock is no longer on the phone, even if it was something flashed. Only the stock aospCMod ROM remains.

I'm on the 4/21 btw. Any suggestions?

I'm not an expert on this rooting stuff but if anything I would flash back to stock and update profile and prl and see if you can send texts / make phone calls.
If not, Sprint seemed to reduce their coverage drastically Sprint Community: Voice and 3G coverage being drastically... (There are also threads in the Sprint Forum on androidforums sending you to this link. I have seen a big reduction in service lately (even in a big city such as Philadelphia).

I have experienced random reboots using the 4/21 ROM (running Firerat's mod) and sometimes the SD card doesn't load (which is why it seems to be only Stock). Sometimes it works like 10 minutes later and sometimes I reboot the phone, but your problem is probably similar to where the SD card doesn't load properly.

All the problems your having are known problems with this rom. GPS seems reboot the phone on most people's phones. The music thing you might try bumping up your min CPU settings to see if that helps. And the phone freezing up also seems to happen to a lot of people but sporadically.

But if you have a nandroid of your stock rom that would be the easiest way to update.

advanced \ wipe davlik cache

MOUNTS AND STORAGE
Format System
Format data
Format Cache
Format Boot

Then Flash Rom & Gapps = STORAGE SPACE

is it possible to do all of this without wiping my data? or would that make my phone more vulnerable to having something wrong with it?

Yep, it is the charger or cable probably. My friend bought an after market charger for his Sprint HTC Hero and he said it caused all sorts of weird phenomenon while it was charging.

I would suggest going with an OEM charger or just charging via a USB port if you can. It might be a bit slower, but at least it will not cause issues.

My friend and I took a road trip last week and we used the GPS for hours with only ONE minor glitch. That glitch simply required a restart of Google Navigation and all was back to normal.

The GPS is MUCH more reliable than it was a few months ago. Back then it would inaccurate and losing connectivity with the satellites left and right.

No....Not if you want the extra Space....its really not that big of a deal.
Use TB - and you will back up and running in under 30 min.
Or You could do FireRats Mod.....

The GPS is MUCH more reliable than it was a few months ago. Back then it would inaccurate and losing connectivity with the satellites left and right.

I unistalled the overclock widget and set the internal CPU to min 264 and max 710 and now it runs like a champ. No more GPS crashes either, that might have been a lot of the issues people were having. The CPU/overclock fighting over who's in control.

i ahve looked at the Cyanogen mods in the settings and went to interface and LED settings and tried that, but it doesnt work. WHAT DO I DO? I really think the LED is a necessity

4/29 is the latest release, which i do not have posted in the OP, but go back a few pages and you will find it, and try rebooting to see if your LED works after that, always do a reboot first to see if that resolves any issues first

Check your stock message settings.

Do I need clockword mod recovery to flash this? I'm still using the Amon Ra recovery image (it's what I know and I don't like change, so sue me)

If I don't need clockword do I just wipe data and dalvick/cache then flash the rom and gapps?

You technically do not need ClockworkMod Recovery to flash this. I know a few people that have used Amon RA Recovery successfully with this ROM.

I just tend to recommend using ClockworkMod Recovery because you can more fully wipe your handset. Eventually, the newest ROMs will only support the latest ClockworkMod Recovery due to the scripting changes, but for now you are safe.

Thanks, I may flash it anyways through rom manager just to see what all the fuss is about. I am running CM 7.0.2, if I flash clockwork mod through rom manager on this rom is that the latest version?

It is ClockworkMod version 2.5.0.7, I believe. The latest is version 3.0.0.7, but ClockworkMod version 2.5.0.7 will be just fine for your purposes.

The difference between the two is some wording changes, different colored text, and what type of scripts it handles, which is Amend versus Edify. Just go with ClockworkMod version 2.5.0.7 for now and you will be good to go.

I flashed to this rom a month ago and i've been having this issue since then. my phone doesn't recognize that i'm rooted.

If I go to use titanium backup it will say that my phone isn't rooted.

I even tried using that Z4root app and it doesn't work. It just closes teh app after a while and doesn't do anything.

What can I do?
