Would you buy the Evo 3D or HTC Kingdom?

Nope, I like the size of the EVO's screen. It's a personal computer more than a "phone" to me and likely the Kingdom's would be too small for my usage. And then there is the 3D on the eVO and the cameras....yeah EVO hands down.

The Kingdom seems to be coming quickly.

HTC PH44XXX Gets Bluetooth Certified, Is It The HTC Kingdom?

It's amazing there is so much info about it leaking out about it and there hasn't been any info on the 3D other than what Sprint released when it was announced. I would venture to say that the 3D is one of the best kept secrets in smartphone history.

It is amazing, which leads me to believe that they really got some cool stuff in store for us or some really bad news.

Based upon the specs, the Kingdom sounds like another rock solid HTC phone on Sprint.

Though, it seems like an Evo alternative, and not in the same class as the Evo3D. So for everyone that thinks 3D is a "gimmick", here you go...

I do wonder is Sprint will make the Kingdom part of the Evo line.

The Kingdom will be more for people like I am...kinda.

Sprint is probably trying to spur up new business. I didn't want to get an Evo because, well...the Evo is a year old and they still only offer it at the Sprint store with a 2 year contract. I don't care for the Shift, because I currently have a DX. But I'm sure people are planning to start looking away from VZW, because VZW is about to crack down on tether usage, and AT&T has already. Sprint doesn't have such rules. Not that I tether, but with Sprint being cheaper and as good of coverage in my area as VZW...all I need is a good phone to replace my X. Sprint, currently, doesn't have that. So the Kingdom may be to attract price-conscious people who still want a good phone (plus they'll advertise it as a new phone when it does have so many similarities) but don't want to shell out for the 3D or don't care about 3D - as it really just seems like a gimmick.

Personally, I want the 3D. It's a beast of a phone, has 3D (I want to see what this craze is all about), and it's on Sprint. I'm tired of VZW.

If the Kingdom were shorter than the 3D and thinner than the 3D or original EVO, I might've considered it...even with the drop to 4.0 screen.

But other than the small 'bit of information that's been released, there's not much more for it to be a contender as far as upgrade is concerned compared to the 3D (IMO).

I like the Kingdom, looks great... but ya might as well just go for the flagship and get the EVO 3D, since there probably wont be more than a 100 dollar difference. The 3D's specs are top of the line. Its 100% subjective though, get what YOU want/like/need, both will be pretty amazing.

Question: Is it safe to say the Kingdom is equivalent to the Incredible 2??
EDIT: I see there is no 4G on the Incredible 2.

Good question - ;)

So, basically it's the Incredible S for Sprint

Tough call - kinda maybe. The Inc S uses the 8255 at 1 GHz, this has the 7630 at 1.2 GHz - also - S has 8 MP camera, this has 5 MP camera.

HTC Incredible S specs - Phone Arena

Performance-wise - tough call. Personally, I'd be hard pressed to choose.

Wow, Thanks EM! I didn't even catch that CPU difference.. Kingdom is definitely a step up, imo.

I think the EVO 3D is the one for me though... Even though both have impressive hardware... I'd just end up having buyers remorse a few months down the road. Don't want that! :)

That's just it. If the 3D had never been announced and all that was coming to Sprint was the Kingdom, I'd probably be pleased as Punch buying it. Ignorance is bliss, no?

hmm... if Kingdom was the only phone to be released this summer, I'm not sure I'd be so quick to upgrade to it... whereas for Evo 3D, I would. I guess that just proves that the 3D capabilities and camera-centric features are pretty important to me.

True, or that you aren't using an original Pre still :-P

I think the line progression of Evo Shift, Evo what(Kingdom) and Evo 3D shows a great understanding of the market and makes new buyer decisions easier. Aside from the change to 4" from 4.3" I think the Kingdom will be a great choice for those needing to replace an Evo but not ready to upgrade. If they somehow get the Sensation built-out with the same memory as the 3D, then the line would be fully represented - but I really doubt they'd do that, as it would diffuse sales in the dual-core between two models (easier to get ROI with a single model).

We don't need another Hero. Just had to say that. The song popped in my head. But what can this phone do that EVO 3D or O.G.EVO can't do?
