Help Find whats wrong with these phones..

Hi, my cousin wants an intercept, since she cant deal with the optimus V no physical keyboard, and I honestly think I would switch to an intercept as well, if I had a chance to test it. Anywho, I was on craigslist, and found an intercept for $100, so I offer the guy $70, no reply yet, then I notice he is also selling an Optimus v, or atleast appears to be. Here is the links to both of the assumed same poster ads.

Samsung Intercept-Virgin Mobile

LG Optimus V-virgin Mobile

My only suspect over these ads, is why would the dude be selling both the intercept and optimus moderately cheap, ..erm I dont know, just seeing both for sale from the same guy makes me suspect something is wrong. what do you guys think?

It does make me wonder. You could always drop him a message asking why he's selling both. As for switching from a Optimus to a Intercept? If there isn't a VM store nearby, the Intercept is also sold by Sprint. Maybe a Sprint store is more convenient for you to check out the Intercept? Personally, with my experience with both phones, that isn't a swap I would make.

Yeah, I saw that, and that sounds like a valid reason to sell a phone, but 2? 2 of the same model essentially. He sent me back in email that said "sent from Iphone" so yeah he got one apparently, and so thats truthfull, maybe hes just one of those rich people who buy things when they are brand new, then get the next new thing and get rid of the last new, new thing. Love those people on craigslist. I once got a washer/dryer for $200, the things were selling in sears for $850 a pop. The rich people just wanted to get rid of them.

I gave my old intercept to my brother and he says it runs smoothly due to the updates. As for switching from the V to the intercept, the v far outweighs the intercept. If you are going to be using the intercept solely as a phone, it's perfect. If you want a device that is good for games apps and social networking go with the v. Once you start putting apps on the intercept it gets bogged down super fast. Mine got to the point where if I hit the phone application it would freeze for literally 5 minutes and then reboot. In an emergency situation that can be risky, which is why I use the v currently, until this supposed Droid phone for vm comes out. Then I'm switching again and donating my phone to someone who needs it :)

when you are buying from craiglist, meet in a public area well lit. Wal-Mart of McDonalds are good for this

and when buying electronics do not do it through the mail. Do it in person, i know that sounds suspicious but it is safer when you look at the product's condition. Test it first, make sure the buyer knows you will not pay anything until you power up the phones and test to make sure they are no major complications

Make sure you have a good contact info, if he fails to remove them from a VM account, you will have a hard time getting them in yours.

If yo can, call VM while he is there to make sure they are open and available. If he can't or won't free them, don't buy them as they are likely stolen.
