Release date: 6/24 nationwide; 6/21 for SP members.

I thought the recently released and very slick Sensation vid bode very well - I don't recall ever seeing that kind of pre-release marketing from them before.

Translation: I'm very much expecting one for the Evo 3D to follow very soon and then some release dates sneaking out.

Just my opinion...

I was thinking the exact same thing. It did a fantastic job outlining the phone, and presented it as a very powerful device(which it is). However it only left me saying "Omg where's something like this for the EVO 3D?"

...are you speaking Hungarian or something? You know - maybe it was just like that.

EarlyMon, you don't speak Hungarian? Come on man. Get with the times ;)...LOL.

Okay, so back to release date info. I tried to get info out of my EVP rep, but got absolutely nothing.

Now, I'm still holding to my theory that there might be more info during or after the Sprint NASCAR All-Star race next weekend. Any NASCAR fans (I'm not one, but just checking if there are any on here that might be attending)? Reason I ask is according to the schedule,
* Wednesday, May 18, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET – NASCAR Rev'd Up at the NASCAR Hall of Fame featuring a concerts by Josh Kelley and Gary Allan, as well as interactive fan entertainment (free admission).
The bold part of that statement intrigues me. What better way to have "interactive fan entertainment" than Sprint showing off some GREAT 3D videos and/or content for NASCAR.

Just seems like it would be relevant, as far as marketing is concerned, to tie in that event with more information about the "official release date and price" of the EVO 3D, wouldn't it? I'm marking next Wednesday as the date that everything is announced for the device.

I think some connected insiders know and tell their friends, sometimes. And sometimes those friends work at Sprint stores - but not as many as are claimed.

Good idea to be friendly, for when they might advance info from corporate - you never know.

IMO

Unless we find out soon that they are training on it in store, I'm starting to seriously doubt the June 3 release. They typically give the store advocate the phone 2 weeks in advance of release

OK - lurkers and our soon-to-be new members are finding this thread via search, and it's only polite to keep this one focused to opinions, rumors, and info on release dates only.

In the last day, we've spun several threads out of this one - no one's fault - when the info's not there, chatter is going to happen (says the ring-leading chatterbox himself :p).

So - expect most interesting side-chatter to move here unless there's an existing thread for it:

Hope this helps! ;)

I was leaning towards a July release date. I don't think they will want the Sensation and EVO 3d to go head-to-head. That would be great for me seeing as my upgrade is 7/1/11. I won't count out a late June release though so my bet is 6/24/11. It could easily be 7/1/11 as both fall in with the Friday pattern.

You're right, I doubt Sprint has achieved the number of sales they want with the Nexus S. Which makes a late June early July launch seem more feasible.

I highly doubt htc cares if they are released around the same time. This isn't an evo 3d vs sensation this is tmobile vs sprint with htc providing the ammo to both sides. Both phones will probably sell like hot cakes so while tmobile and sprint are going at it htc will be reaping the benefits. Also with tmobile and att already having a dual core phone out in addition to verizon releasing the droid x2 in less than two weeks sprint will be the only one without a dual core phone available to the masses. For the sake of a pissing contest between all the carriers I don't see sprint waiting until july to release this phone.

EDIT: Also to add, sprint needs to take advantage of the fact that there is no iphone to talk about at the moment. They need to get people under contract so they don't have people jumping ship come september. Times have changed, phones don't have a shelf life of 2 years anymore. You have to keep your customers interested or they will leave.

I'm really hoping this isn't an HTC thing but is more about Sprint and that Sprint gets their but in gear. When I look at T-Mobiles plans and I'd be saving money every month plus they get the Sensation before we get the 3D, sure makes a ripe situation to jump ship. Add in the fact that it looks like T-Mobile is paying $125 for switching I'm almost thinking that if we don't know anything by the end of May I'm gonna have to seriously look at my options.

Didn't think about it that way, I guess you're right. I just want to hear something concrete from Sprint & HTC, tired of waiting and guessing. I wonder what the chances are of sprint pushing my upgrade to June , if it does come out then. Guess i'll trying calling their customer service line tomorrow. I really don't want an EVO 4G repeat where I had to wait for 2 weeks because stores where "out of stock". I'm hoping it's June though.

My friend at Sprint says the release will be in June but hasn't had official word on when in June. He did point out that the instant rebate program will be over around the first of June. This makes sense in my mind because the Evo 3D will sell like hotcakes and shouldn't need any incentives like instant rebates. They will probably have a hard time keeping units on hand. With all the likely sales from the 3D, Sprint can use our rebate money interest free for a month or two before giving it back ;)

Not saying your friend is wrong, he actually might be right and I hope he is.

But...

I just find it very hard to believe this phone will launch in 3 weeks with no FCC clearing and really no buzz at all.

If we get something solid this week from FCC or something like that, then i would say OK June release is coming. Till then i am sticking with sometime late June or early July.
