Swift keyboard

Thought i would drop a reccomendation for this alt keyboard, I am in no way affiliated witht the developer..

I have been using it for 2 months now and I have not looked back, its predictive element is excellent, I only type 10% of any full word now, it looks at your text history and predicts what word you generally use next.

The only draw back is that you lose the soft arrow keys from the HTC keyboard, but the app is that good i have not missed them.

Check out the trial before you buy, worth the upgrade fee imho

I have been using Swype for the last 4 months and loved it. However came across a new alt keyboard yesterday called "FlexT9". This alt keyboard has standard predictive, trace, voice AND gesture keyboards. I must say, it is remarkably better and smoother than anything I have used to date!

You got it from Amazon's free app of the day deal, right? My initial impression was it's possibly a bit better in terms of predictions than Swype is by default (you can sacrifice speed to improve swypes predictions however). I still find swype based keyboards a bit awkward on the DHD's large screen though.

The main problem i had with Swype was it wasn't predictive when typing normally. However with FlexT9 it IS predictive. I agree, you could never "swype" when typing in landscape.

How did you know! lol thanks go to @le3ky over at droid-den.com
cheers buddy :D

Yeah, swyping in landscape is pointless since it's really a system for typing one handed. I struggle to swype in portrait on the DHD though, even though I used it all the time on my old (smaller) phone. I probably never gave it a chance, since proper typing is much easier on a larger screen.

No need to go all the way to droid-den to find him; he's a mod here :P

Swype just makes my screen so messy, big swipy finger marks, Less typing with swift = less messy DHD :-D
