We now have confirmation that the Motorola Atrix will drop in the UK tomorrow (May 4th) on Orange yay!
It will be free on a decent contract (

Also updates will be different and there will be specific carrier issues no doubt so should the Admins be setting up a separate Motorola Atrix sub-forum?

Unless the phone is very different from the Bell/AT&T Atrixes, I don't think the Admin will make a seperate forum for the UK version.
 
Sucks for American users that it comes at such a discounted price but good news for our UK counterparts. If the laptop dock is free, that's really going to sting.
 
just work and play kit, not a lapdock unfortunately but still good :)

Mine is on pre order but still might go for the SGS2
 
There are also suggestions that the laptop dock will be heavily discounted and possibly free to high end users. Unfortunately it all seems a bit disjointed following the press release as the Atrix page on Orange has been reinstated as "coming soon" without any further details.
I am a high end business user (a lot of overseas trips last year) so I will chase Orange business again shortly and let you know what deal I get.

I would have the atrix over the optimus 2x personallly, despite some of the specs like 1080p recording on the LG.

Was St first annoyed that tethering wssnt authorised but I have got round that now so the Atrix is staying for good. There will be some minor features u would miss from HTC sense, but launcher pro does a better job in many ways.

Thanks Ben, it does look like a great device.It seems a bit smaller than the others too which is good.:)
 
I don't know if its the same for everyone here in the UK but as far as I can see Orange have not messed with the phone at all. No logos, no bloatware, no splash screens, no problem with sideloading or tethering and I haven't tried another sim but I suspect its unlocked.
Launcher Pro and Home Switcher mean I've now got it set up pretty much as I want and it certainly flies!! Very happy so far!! And yes Roze it is the perfect size!!
 
After carefully comparing the Atrix and the Atrix 4g on gsmarena.com........I found no differences lol

Depends what you define as bloatware, but one has the Orange Wednesdays and Your orange apps that can't be updated or removed.

Other than this I would agree that they've left it pretty much un-touched.

It's the same with the Bell Atrix. A couple of Bell apps, but everything is pretty much left untouched from AOSP 2.2 that is not Blurr, lol.

I think this is true for any Atrix outside of USA. That's why it is so easy for us to flash the Telstra's or French (what's the carrier's name again?) SBF so easily.

Does the UK's Atrix have its SBF out?
