Just be first in line with your pre-order gift card when the doors open on launch day. Sleeping in will not help your cause.
 
Based on the fact that the Pre-orders, ROM leak and accessory appearances all synchronise damn near perfectly with EVO 4G events nearly one year ago, I would say this will be coming early June. The only thing that hasn't actually matched up is the release date announcement. The biggest difference in this from last year is that Sprint actually has comparable phones on the market, excluding dual-core goodness. And at that, there are only two on the market in the US that I am aware of, the Atrix and G2X. I will be very surprised to see this phone release anytime beyond the second week of June.

Just my thoughts.

yes the evo was and is popular but the launch was not the best imho.
lots of people with preorders had to wait to get the phone.

just saying that could be why we have the secret pre orders and no news from sprint.

I agree fully that last years launch of the evo 4g wasn't the best but honestly there was no way for sprint to determine how much the evo was gonna sell. Hell I don't think any of us could have guessed how successful the evo was gonna be. So I am sure sprint will take that as a learning experience and make improvements from there. One thing for sure though, if they wait until at least July to released this phone it will be a huge mistake.
 
Does anyone else feel like Sprint is not revealing the release date as a gimmick to create more anticipation? Seems like they got us by the grip of their hands. Luckily, I have a hookup with my local sprint store and I will be guaranteed one on release date along with discounts on monthly and accessories. So I'm not complaining.

We apologise for not releasing our source on this story, it was received in an email directly from Vodafone with a release date for the HTC ChaCha as well.

No. So they are going to wait until the 4 of July weekend? Who is going to be around to pick up a phone on Sunday, 3 July? Sprint stores aren't even open on Sundays. This 3 July phone release is nonsense.

I very highly doubt that's the reason. Really the only people anxiously waiting for it are geeks like us. Corporations don't care about geeks like us. We don't hold any weight. It's the masses they want to appeal to. You ask any normal person about the evo 3d and I'm sure you'll get a lot of "what is that". There's something else going on. maybe they don't want to advertise it since they just released the Nexus S.
 
I have a friend who just got the EVO 4G a few months ago. I was like yeah, I'm about to get that EVO 3D. It should drop in June. He was like you are getting a what? Yes, only geeks know about this phone. The masses DO NOT know about the release of the EVO 3D. My buddy told me he had saw his dad with the EVO and he saw my phone therefore he wanted to get one. Besides, he is an iPhone hater like me. I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. The phone will release around 3 June.

Sprint phones are released on Sunday's.
Just google it and you will see how many were released.

How do you release a phone that a lot people may wait in line for, but the store is only open for 5 hours on a Sunday? Makes no sense. I was wrong, looks like my Sprint store is open from 12-5 on Sundays. But I doubt they will be open on 3 July since I live in the bible belt. And Sprint had computer issues last year on launch day of the EVO with all the activations. So you are going to tell me they are going to extend their hours from 5 hours on Sunday just for the EVO 3D? I think not.

It may be like they do at the clubs.
You have people lined up outside to get a perception of frenzy, then you get inside and you see only a handful of people in there.
Media will say people lined up outside Sprint stores for this hot phone.
BB an RS are open on Sunday too aren't they?

You have one friend that did not know about the EVO 3D and all of a sudden that means the masses? We've discussed plenty how this phone has had barely any advertising. Please show a source that "geeks know about this phone."

5 hours is a long time. I've known plenty of stores that will stay open longer on the launch of a big item. Please provide a source saying that they wouldn't do this.

Where are you getting your information? Both Best Buy, Sprint, and Radio Shack are open on Sundays. Stores do not close on the day before July 4th unless they are a small business or Chik Fil A.

And the Evo is a Sprint phone. So if someone says Sprint Phones come out on Sundays and someone says the Evo didn't then the statement needs to be changed to SOME Sprint phones come out on Sundays.
 
Ok so let's all agree that a Sunday is a possibility as is a Friday and any one of 5 other days in a week (EarlyMon check my math on that one). I personally think it would be stupid to release on 4th of July weekend as it is a big vacation/beach weekend but it is also a huge Weekend of Sales so maybe. I would lean more towards a June 3rd or June 24th-26th release for no particular reason.

Thank you for letting me know the EVO 4G is a Sprint phone. I thought it might be on big red.
 
Also if it was released on July 4th the shipment would probably be vandalized by terrorists :)
