What keyboard do you use

Hi

I really Love Swift Keyboard tried it then bought it. It also learns so that the words you use most come up with just typing in the first letter.

It is great.

I used SlideIT a while ago and then went back to the HTC keyboard, because SlideIT was a battery drainer. I've now gone back to SlideIT, v3.0, because I was getting annoyed with constant typo mistakes, no matter how many times I calibrated the HTC keyboard.

One annoying thing with SlideIt is that it doesn't autospace before 'I' and 'a'.

I also preferred the way Swype handles apostrophes ie. you do it manually.

And someone can correct me if I'm wrong but SlideIt doesn't appear to automatically add names from my contacts to its dictionary the way Swype did. That was a very convenient feature in Swype.

I like the Nexus KB - which i got as an APK...

Im not a fan of the htc sense one - dislike the white colour!

Not a fan of the GB KB...just another worthless variant of the nexus, in a different colour ???? - IMO.

Pity htc didnt offer the chance of colour change on the original as i could save space then !!!!

The nexus keyboard is the stock android keyboard. So thats the Froyo Stock Keyboard for Nexus 1 on froyo and GB stock keyboard for nexus 1 on GB. So its not a worthless variant. Its the same keyboard. Just depends if you have the older froyo version or the newer GB version.

You can install the HTC IME MOD to any colour you want. You just have to make it at www.gIMpSTa.com (hi res).

Or you can even use my black or blue ones linked in teh downloads thread in my signature.

my ideal would be swiftkey with a numeric keypad. Does ANYONE still use those? :( I just can't get round a qwerty one at all

I saw one other person here who used numeric pad.

I use qwerty all the time so its no issue for me.

Perhaps it's because I've not actually found a decent qwerty besides the stock one (and swiftkey), it just takes too long trying to navigate round a tiny keyboard when trying to type. I am used to typing fast on numeric, so can't stand being slowed down with qwerty.

maybe i should just try harder with it.....

To each their own really. I really should use landscape more. I have got into a terrible habit of using the KB portrait

Exactly my thoughts too, downloaded it the other night hoping for the numeric keypad, because in one of the updates listed in swiftkey there was a glitch when using non qwerty keyboard :(

Must put my fingers on a diet :(

Trouble I have found is you end up with a screen full of keyboard and not much else.
Great to be able to use the keyboard, not to see what you are typing/ what others have typed.

SwiftKey works for me love it. I liked swipe but I had the same problem as others did, I was fighting a lot with it. But still swipe is a cool keyboard but will stick with Swiftkey for now.

That's exactly why I tried it again. I suppose non-qwerty meant the other foreign set-up.

Curses. Just tried to use one of the slideit keyboards and it wouldn't even open. thats me stuck on phonne keypad then

SwiftKey is amazing for me, much faster than all the others...
I just hate that you cannot easily switch off the predictions (for website names, addresses or those things, I don't need it and it just confuses the typing).

I was using Swift Key until I ripped my fingernail off,had to stick a plaster on it so couldn't type with both thumbs.

Switched to Swype which is great and haven't felt the need to switch back yet.

Just started using HTC IME Mod, pimped out by Gimpsta.

Finished my 15 day trial of SlideIt. Didn't like it all and I much prefer Swype.

I've moved on to Swiftkey X beta which I've got to say I'm liking already.
