Help What Am I Missing with Sprint ID?

sprint id on the epic is an option. you don't have to use it if you don't want to. i don't understand why people are complaining about it.

if you chose to use sprint id, all it does is download and install a bunch of liked apps, wallpaper and widgets, right? you can choose to remove the widgets, the apps and then change the wallpaper. i don't understand how that could mess up the device?

i'm seriously asking because maybe i have a different understanding of sprint id.

Nope thats exactly what Sprint ID is, I see it as a way for people that arent so into being able to customize to really give them a view of the possibilites and maybe to make it easier for those who are more inept at technology.

I also think that people thought Sprint ID was going to be like a mandatory thing when it was first announced :p
And no one likes being told what they have to do with their property :p

I had the problem of not being able to REMOVE sprint ID after I tried it and didn't like it...

It took quite a lot more effort than originally thought to remove it. I ended up going for Home++ and trying Launcher PRO, from there, changing the launcher used, I was able to not load into sprint ID, then I was able to go through and set the default Launcher again, and have been happy ever since.

i didn't think sprint ID was a type of home launcher. if you didn't like what was installed (apps, widgets, wallpaper?) then the quickest way would be to select the Empty ID where it clear out the widgets and reset the home screens.

things were still arranged differently than the default launcher. the ID kind of changed how your screens were setup.

notice that ribbon with your phone contacts, texts, etc is gone and replaced...

it's not necessarily a terrible layout or anything, but sprint ID (even with all widgets and everything closed / removed) slowed my phone's performance down a good bit. It was just really annoying.

I opted to go back to the default launcher and I have no issues with it. My phone is quick, responsive, and still looks just fine.

/shrug .... to each his own, you know?

I just didn't care much at all for sprintID
