"By relying on external storage, HTC has also bypassed the EXT4 filesystem, one of the factors which we saw speed up performance on the Galaxy S II. EXT4 support arrived in Android 2.3, but the Sensation
yea, i heard another poster here say that the rep at their local Sprint store said that June/July is gonna be a very busy month for Sprint. Sounds like there is a lot going on right now at Sprint. (S GSII, EVO 3D, "Kingdom," Photon, and more).
I had a Droid X... I was really impressed by Moto's hardware although I'm not a huge fan of their locked/signed/encrypted bootloader. On top of that I'm leary of the Tegra 2 based phones. That's a SOC from a mfr that's new to the smartphone game and they seem to have a lot of stability issues with phones using that SOC (both the Atrix and Optimus 2X). Maybe the bugs will be worked out by the time this is released but at this time I'm still leaning toward the Evo 3D.
Well if it is based off the driod 2x as oppose to the atrix (which was panned) there will be lots of reviews on driod 2x in a week or so.

Droid2x has a more favorable form factor (for me) than the evo 3d; though motoblur sucks rotten egg (imho) and I would want to make sure it was rootable so we could replace the launcher (i believe you require root to replace the launcher). Anyways we shall find out soon enough.
Yeah, I'm definitely not in a rush now. I was leaning toward biting the bullet and upgrading to the 3D, but with the information leaking about the Photon 4G and the SGS 2, I felt like it was too hasty to jump on an upgrade, when I really still like my current EVO a lot!
Motorola Tegra-2-Powered Photon 4G Rumored for Sprint
Stuff like this makes me glad that I'm not upgrading anytime soon. This year is a whole different animal compared to last. In 2010, the EVO was easily the best device in the market for a long time. It was revolutionary. This year is different. The EVO 3D is going to have alot of comp. I'm on lay back mode lol. Theres going to be some monster phones coming later this year. I'll watch from the sidelines. My EVO will keep me occupied till upgrade time. My upgrade is on 2012.

The Atrix is laggy and is about as responsive as an HTC Hero. I hope Moto has learned something and made the Photon as speedy as the specs imply it should be.
As for Tegra2, I'm not impressed by any devices featuring that chip.
I'm hoping Moto has stepped up for Sprint.
Is it (Atrix)? Have you given it a try? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I honestly haven't tried/seen one in the wild yet.
I agree regarding the Tegra 2. It's not a bad SOC, it's just nothing special. That said, the Tegra 3 looks like it could be a dominant beast. We'll see later this year/early nex I guess.
Go to Best Buy and try the Atrix for yourself. Then try the Nexus S, then come back and tell us which feels and responds like higher spec phone.
If it isn't as responsive and speedy as a Nexus S then what is the point of dual cores and a fancy spec sheet?

Thanks for the info. My cousin has the Atrix for AT&T and didn't notice any lag. She loves her phone and she's not a techie person at all.
Try it for yourself. 10 minutes is all it took for me to want to vomit.
A big part of the reason I chose the Nexus S is because I am generally disgusted with the rough responsivness, laggy interface and poor user experiance Android has.
The Nexus S was the first android device to have a speedy, lag free responsiveness like iOS and WP7. It's now the standard by which I measure all Android phones. I could care less about cores. Either the user experiance is positive or it isn't.
On the upside, Sense 3.0 is very slick and responsive on the Flyer and should be even zippier on E3D.
