HTC Sensation - Reviews

I think the comment by the SlashGear reviewer that the Sensation clearly trailed behind the Samsung in the benchmarks, but did just fine in daily use and never seemed at a loss for RAM was very interesting. I've been worried about getting a Sensation because of the RAM/internal storage limitation, but this review convinced me that it will be just fine for me. I think it's now a two-horse race between the Sensation and the Motorola Bionic for me. Hopefully the Bionic comes out around the same time so I can compare them, but judging from the lack of press that seems pretty optimistic.

I was disappointed to read that the video capture STILL suffers from tearing and judder; on my Desire it's pretty bad but how can it still be poor on a device so much more powerful? Perhaps it's better at 720p?

I'll keep an eye on the Evo 3D and see how that compares, fortunately I've got plenty of time before I upgrade so I'll see how these two phones compare and there's always the "Holiday" later in the year.

Decent enough review until they cowtowed to the quadrant results.

Cowtowed? Like towing a cow?

They sure didn't "kowtow" to anything of the sort. Maybe you are delirious because they prefer the SGS2 over the Sensation?

"The HTC Sensation uses a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor paired with 768MB of RAM to keep things flowing smoothly, and it certainly does the job. While HTC Android phones were once famed for getting bogged down by homescreen widgets, the HTC Sensation doesn

He specified quadrant result. He wasn't knocking the review as a whole.

aren't there apps for that?

There are, but I don't know they have the full codex support (and I'm not sure if there any for MKV format)

also it's more the fact that the standard video player can play them without fussing around with another app.

my point was more that the review blatantly lies, in that the sensation is incapable of playing anything apart from mp4 and divx avi files

and i'd hardly consider having to grab an app for something vs. having the ability a standard as any weight in deciding a new phone

I've really had it with your attitude.

People are allowed to have had jobs writing benchmarks and forgetting more about them than you'll ever know and making honest comments without you turning it into a public envy-fest.

My public record is crystal clear - I defend Android and help all comers find the phone that's right for them.

And I'm entitled to my opinion about the quality of quadrant without having to listen to you.

You have just attacked a person instead of the issue.

It's your second time pulling this with me - the first, I just let go.

Normally, I let mod attacks slide - we expect some childish petulance.

But this simply indicates that you'll slag anyone in your fanboy fever.

Enjoy your vacation.

From the electric pig review concerning the lock screen and using it with the shortcut to the camera. "It is sadly home to the only major bug we noticed as well: launching the camera from it launches a camera without the ability to take photos, just frame them, making the shortcut useless." Are new owners finding this to be true??

I was under the impression you can start the camera with the dedicated camera button.
