Release date: 6/24 nationwide; 6/21 for SP members.

One year anniversary and June 3rD speculation drove that expectation - not unreasonable at the time.

So - Sprint went all pedantic and technical on us - they always said summer, summer starts June 21, 1:16 PM, EDT as was mentioned previously in this thread. <grumbles, shakes head>

Well, the bright side is we might have root all figured out by then. Bummer about the prices in your region, tho. :(
 
A guy on XDA is claiming that the 24th is 100% locked in....also saw another report from a supposed Sprint employee guaranteeing the 24th as well.

Take it with a grain of salt I suppose, but we should hear this week if Sprint holds true to form and that is indeed the release date...next week at the latest, but I would think this week.

I was told the 24th by a Best Buy Regional Manger when porting my GF's number to Sprint yesterday and getting her an Evo. He even hooked me up with it for only 50 bucks. Then he talked me out of the Pre Order to wait for something coming around September.

Late June has been making sense for a while now.

We have seen nothing on this phone. I imagine now over the next 2 weeks lots and lots of leaks will be coming out.
 
If any of this speculation teaches any of us on here....do not listen to speculation and take it as fact. Easily 25+ people stated it being June 3rd and it is looking less and less likely.

Bottom line: the phone will be out when it is out. Then you can say for sure when it is here.
 
there is always a small chance that they hold the training on the 18th and release on the 19th. we have to remember most people will keep their evos for two years plus there is much more competition this year (thank God!). I predict brisk sales but no shortages like last year.

I really hope it's not the 24th since I really wanted to get the $125 rebate for switching carrier and that ends on the 23rd :(
 
June 3rd is pretty much confirmed to be out of the question at this point. It's looking like the 24th is the date. Between the "4th week" training thing, the in store rebate ending on the 23rd, the port in credit ending on the 23rd, the leaked mandatory training, all the reps that were speculating that date on the various forums, and so on.

If I were placing a bet, my money would be on the 24th.

I was thinking the same thing. They could do the training on the 18th and release it within the next day or two. The training should not be that hard. They are all familiar with the EVO 4G. All they need to train on is the differences. Should be pretty easy.
 
Went to the sprint store today and decided to go with the nexus. So far so good. I still plan on getting the 3vo but tired of the optimus I was using...anyways, I asked the rep when he thought the evo was coming out and since he had already sold me a phone, he was pretty straight up with me. He said that they had no idea whatsoever when it was coming out but that he had heard online (just like us) that it was looking like the end of June. He said that the retail stores are pretty much the last to know. He mentioned how he didn't get trained on the evo last year until a few days before. I asked him if he had been trained yet and he said that he hadn't and that he was hoping to get one but his manager took it and said managers only right now. Lol he also said that he had vacation requested for the end of June that nobody would approve yet because he says that the managers don't know either but they are being cautious about approving time too far in advance....thought this was interesting. Take it for what its worth and remember that the guy had nothing to gain from saying anything.

This gels well with the playbook through 6/23 that showed no mention of the 3D date or price. I agree with your estimate above, the SOONEST I think we'll see the Evo 3D is late June, and that could even bump out into early July depending on how production ready the software is.

Also as others have mentioned, it has always been slated for "summer" and that technically doesn't start until 6/21 anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't put faith in ANY specific date at this point, at least not until it is officially announced by Sprint. I do however believe we can tentatively expect it won't arrive any sooner then late June, or possibly early July.
