Help Samsung Kies for MAC

Excellent, although I had the facility to update via the Windows version I was holding out for the Mac version so I can do it on my Macbook Pro. I'm looking forward to updating the firmware.

Thanks for letting me know, it was annoying to not be able to update anything on my mac and thought it was another case of bias towards the larger windows market

Can anyone confirm that updating the firmware on the Mac is a smooth process? I personally have no problem with my phone at the moment so the last thing I want to do is bodge it up.

good start definitely but it says there are no updates for the phone... Got it last month and have not updated previously, preferences states that I have the latest version, surely this can't be true?

oh, OK, Firmware updates not available with the beta version but will apparently be available with the official version. the wait goes on...

Rather disappointingly this version does not include the firmware functionality. It's just as well for me (and other Mac users) that O2 has not released any firmware updates yet...

Where did you here that firmware updates are not available on this version. If you have a branded phone updates may not yet be available as your carrier may not have released them yet. On my phone it shows I have the latest (KE7) and know there are no updates available. I have heard nothing that the Mac version will not be able to update firmware, and this works just the same as the PC version which I also have.

Common sense would say they would create their system for both mac and windows

While it is understandable that they would place the higher priority on the Windows version, it is not very impressive that they did not have the Mac version ready at launch. After all, they didn't have to wait for the phone to become available before they could start writing that pile of rubbish now did they?

The scheduling is a bit poor in other respects too. The MHL cable (which should have been in the box along with a USB OTG cable) has only just become available - that sucks too.

Exactly. I mean, it sounds like it.only.took them 5 minutes to make it anyway with how much people complain about it, so why they.couldn't.have spent that 5 minutes prior to release i don't know!

Having problems trying to even get my Kies to recognize my S2 with my MBP...It's trying to locate the device despite being connected by USB, screen on the S2 shows the same but the Kies software continues to search for the device...I do get a popup for network preferences for the phone, do I need to do something with that?
