Just wondering how many tried Gingerbread 2.0.5 Beta and are still using it without issue, verses how many switched back to prior ROM verses how many bricked possibly due to Gingerbread radio.

Please comment and vote on the Poll!

Personally, I installed it without issue and ran it for a few days but switched back to BAMF 1.6.2 due to the "scare" of it bricking some phones. I think I'm gonna switch back to GB though. I miss it!

I thought about this today. How many people had GB and reverted due to the scare but then went back to GB. I definitely see many saying screw it.

I was on BAMF GB until remix came out and then I was only on it a day when s*** hit the fan. Now I'm back on 1.7 remix and running great. I'm trying to muster the chutzpah to head back to Bamf remix GB. Plus, I'm more of a kernel junkie and there has been quite a bit of action with AOSP and GB lately.

i had been on a GB rom since the leak came out. when the warning appeared on xda,i propmtly went back to cm7. stayed there for a couple days, but battery life is just too bad right now to continue using it.i grudgingly went back to froyo for 1 day,and then decided eff it. in light of the theories floating around,i feel the risk is minimal, tho it is NOT possible to rule out gingerbread at this point,so im not reccomending anyone else follow in my footsteps.

sometime between now,and the next leak i figure 1 of 2 things will happen:
1)nothing
2)it will brick, and maybe it will shed some light on whats going on and why.

currently on bamf 2.0-5,but have used gingeritus as well.

I'm running BAMF 2.0.5 and its been running great ever since. Maybe one or two restarts but its been great since Friday. I don't think I will go back to froyo and sense 2.0

I went back to Froyo when the warning came out.
I then watched like a hawk and only 2 people came forward out of hundreds claiming a brick.
Went back after a few days and been fine ever since.

the only people with bricks were unable or unwilling to check the chip. another speculation has been made about the brickings being a very early batch. mine looks to be in january.

am i correct in assuming the leak we recieved was even too early to be on legitimate test phones yet?

How long have you been on GB since going back?

Personally, I believe the 2 phones effected had other issues and would've bricked no matter WHAT ROM they were using. It's NOT like phones don't brick anyway when messing with ROMs.

That's it! I'm switching back right NOW!

well I compromised and went to CM7. Still have GB and netflix. Dont have the cool sense stuff but I must say pure GB is pretty nice (at least with the crappy CM7 ADW replaced with ADW ex). Its mildly quirky but good enough to daily driving and with the latest dream kernal benchmarking better than froyo or sense GB.

Not touching GB till the bricking issue is handled. I really want to flash it in, but yet to find one I like.

Is there a way to get the "recent apps" to show up in the toolbar when you slide it down like BAMF 1.6.3 does?

i had 2.0-5 running and then the next day i saw the news about possible bricking so i went to 1.6.3 remix then went to 1.7 stripped today.. I think i can keep myself entertained until theres another gb leak or they find and fix the issue.

cm7 would be my preference. i went back to it when the scare started and reminded myself why i was happy to have the leak ;) it works well for pre- alpha, but the RIL is still not right... i would have to charge the phone a couple times a day to get thru it. i could literally watch the battery widget drop,lol... like an old carburated big block sucking down gas at "gallons per mile" instead of the other way around :D

as soon as CM gets this figured out and we start getting nightly builds ill put the leak and leak based roms behind me.

battery on bamf and gingeritus is a lil heavier than the froyo roms, but will usually still get me thru the workday, maybe the whole day depending how i use it.

I am back on froyo. Gingerbread, to me, never seemed as snappy as it should have, even overclocked. Camera lag was a huge issue for me. And the stock messaging app never put messages in the right order(I hate handcent) About the only advantages for me were th lockscreen and crt animations. For me, that's just not enough reason to stay.

I installed GB 2.0->2.5 (with kernel test7 - i think) but while i thought it was incredible, it kept dropping calls. It seemed like it was tied to me moving the phone from my ear, which suggested the proximity sensor was fouled up. I need my phone and i can't have dropped calls so after checking the MD5 sums (all matched) decided to go back. The "scare" LOL, just confirmed my move.

Maybe if I get some time and we see more "0's" in the non-bricked category i will try it again.

I haven't had any real issues with it since yesterday. Just loading a few patches to make things better. Loving it though. Don't think I'll switch back.

Well I switched back to GB for a day and now am switching back... I'm getting home screen redraws in Rosie everytime I exit an app... I don't like that since it means there are memory issues (the TB has enough RAM that it shouldn't need to kill the launcher app).

Oh well, I love the Sense elements and GB. However I have a feeling I won't be waiting long. We should have a new more ready for primetime leak in the next couple weeks.

ive been on gb since day two (too busy to flash on day one). still running strong. i havent had a single issue, setcpu has a profile to immediately underclock if the phone gets hot.

i thought about going back to froyo but i've had no problems on gb so i decided screw it. once cm is good to go on it without all the hiccups it has i'll flash that.

alot of the gb roms have sense 3.0 options built into them which is what is causing some lag. flash imoseyons latest kernel, use speedtweak.sh commands in terminal or setcpu (one of the other, not both, if you want to use setcpu you have to disable speedtweak or you will get reboots from them conflicting each other). also there is a thread over on xda in dev section about swap by dr0idth3ory (sp??), flash the enable swap zip in recovery and the other zip and enable swap on your phone and you will never have redraws or lag on anything.

my head is killing me right now. normally i use capital letters, proper punctuation, and better grammar but right now i'm in so much pain i really dont give a damn. if this makes sense to anyone else and helps you out while running gb then i'm glad, if not, oh well, this probably took you about 60 seconds to read. i'm done with the computer for the day, if this helps someone out and you want to link to the xda thread that would be great.

i havent really had any prollems using ADW... maybe a couple of redraws but not many. if i could figure out how to make rosie rotate,id prolly go ahead and run it that way a couple days,as portait only is one of my biggest sense complaints(along with effin white backgrounds ;))

i also wouldnt mind sense 2.1 mms,so i wouldnt have to use handcent. but thats all beside the point ;)

i dont think i can go back to froyo... but there is another cm7 build out... i do think its time for a break from the death radio(but not because im skeert ) for a few days.

i also hope your right about havin a new leak here soon. getting the kernel source code will help out alot,as well.

Well, just gonna report that I've had NO issues AT ALL with this ROM!!! Going on a week since flashing back to GB 2.0.5B and have had NO issues at all! Not ONE random reboot whatsoever!

I DO have an issue with recording video still and I HAVE applied the patches with NO success, but I don't really use the video function much.

I have had several instances of random reboots with all roms including stock.
I have had one instance of a shutdown/lockup that was only resolved by a battery pull running the GB leak.

Other than that, yes it works fine.
Charging appears to be muuuuuuuuuuuch slower on GB.
