Root .596 sbf file!!!

Oh dear. Sounds like there may be a ton of garbage in there. Although, the SBF file for Froyo was just over 400 megs. All the blur in GB could account for the larger size.
 
probably so, i was pretty shocked at how large the file was after being so small in the .gz format
 
I'm not too keen on files being compressed that much anyway. May just be me but compressing a file by half or more can lead to data loss/corruption.

Or I could just be having an early 20'th century flashback of when things like this didn't go so well.....lol.
 
flasing back on the daze of the 2400 baud dialup modem that you had to put the phone handset on top of?
 
Varying compression levels won't corrupt a file. Either the compression algorithm (whatever amount) corrupted the file or it didn't.

Once it's compressed, it's straight binary transfer. Just depends on how long you're transferring it.

Also, yes, old modems were awesome. I still have one in a closet somewhere that I kept because it was about two feet long, all metal and must have weighed 15 lbs. I figured I could use it as a home defense weapon if necessary.

Imagine the humiliation to be that burglar. Headlines read: Attempted burglary failed. Perpetrator beaten into submission with 1200 baud modem.

That's what I was referring to. You just said it better than me....lol.

And I would die laughing if I saw a headline like that.
