removing preinstalled apps

hi soz if been posted on here before but is there any way to remove preinstalled apps (stocks etc...) thanx.

Usually you would have to root your phone to do this... http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-...install-custom-rom-desire-hd.html#post2819935

EDIT - my phone was Orange UK branded and had a load of Orange bloatware on it (e.g. games like block buster or something like that)... I downgraded to an HTC stock ROM, which actually got rid of the carrier branded rubbish and then rooted my phone to install custom roms on there!!

cheers for repies will keep them on dont wanna root it just hoping there might be some sort of software that gets it off .

D-U-R-X is right. Its not worth the effort to be honest.

Yeah - to be honest, they don't take up that much room, so shouldn't affect the phone too much.

Getting rid was actually one of the reasons I rooted my phone, but I also wanted to install custom ROM's too and have full control over it.

It's not actually that difficult, but can seem a little daunting if you've never heard of/done it before. :)

Beware - it does void the warranty of your phone if you root it!

Not to remove them, as far as I'm aware... I think you can get an app that "freezes" the pre-installed apps that you can't remove... this would mean that they can't access the phone, so can't have any drain effect on the battery.
