being pushed to our phones. Since I'm rooted, I kept postponing the update (I've been told updates unroot your phone) until it finally forced the update on me today. I'm happy to report the update did not unroot my phone

Rooting your android is like jailbraking the iphone. It lets you tap into the resources of your phone that samsung didn't intend for you to do. Basically its like a computer. You have your administrator then you can create a separate logon for another user and restrict their access to downloading certain things and looking at certain sites.

Rooting basically means you're the administrator and can do whatever you want. you can save games to your sd card and use on other phones capable of playing those games. Out of the box your phone cannot do this.

Unrooting basically means changing your phone back to stock (out of the box).

Messing with your phone and changing settings can destroy your phone not to mention void warranty also if you don't read up on how to do it or how to modify things once rooted.
