Best Phone Lock Apps?

Getting the Moment soon, building a list of Apps, and was wondering what some cool Phone Lock Screen apps there are?
 
+1 for interest. voice recognition or a passphrase said with your voice...oOo! oOo! or take a picture of your eye!! that'd be crazy! biometrics on a phone...it has to be possible...and probably used for "spy phones" haha

no...seriously...anyone?
 
I meant like the ones where you have to slide your finger in the correct pattern, or move the slider accross the screen, because the whole Menu to unlock thing is a little easy if you ask me....
 
yeah i am with you on this, the current one is stupid. It can easily be done by mistake, by pressing the button then pulling it out of your pocket - with tight pockets.
 
I would like to have the Droid locksreen because you have to swipe in a rainbow motion. Much more unlikely to get unlocked vs what I have on my Hero.

I know the market has a free and pay version of LockBot but I have been hesitant to install because of some comments on the App.

I have used Lock 2.0. It has a unlock slide similar to the iPhone. It isn't bad but I want something more similar to the Droid lockscreen.
 
I bought lock 2.0, its ok, does what it said it does. Only problem is it doesn't auto start on reboot so I have to remember to run it everytime I restart. Wish there was a way to fix that. I have an HTC hero and the phone would unlock in my pocket and call people. I think its cause you only need to press menu twice to unlock the phone. The only option is to set lock pattern, which means having two lock screen before you go to home screen. Lock 2.0 makes it so I only need 1 lock screen, the menu button opens up options and settings for lock 2.0 and pressing it twice does nothing. The free version does everything you need. i bought it to remove the annoying "free version" text displayed over the screen
 
Wow. Being paranoid seems terribly inconvenient. I'm positive NO ONE cares about getting the data on my phone.

I'm at the opposite extreme, obviously, and I use MyLock to bypass the unlock screen altogether (just press the power button and use the phone).
 
I loved LockBot Free, but it didn't stop my hero screen lock from opening first, and that left me having to go through 2 lock screens instead of one. I absolutely loved the app though, very customizable and easy to use.

I was thinking about trying lock 2.0 but I'm afraid the same thing will happen.
 
Lock 2.0 has been the best option to me so far. Don't know if I will ever get the Droid lockscreen...oh well.
 
May I suggest one of my own apps? Executive Assistant provides a lock screen option that allows you to preview gmail, agenda, SMS messges, missed calls, favorite widgets, and optionally Google Reader and/or Twitter feeds (you choose how much info is safe on the lock screen). Several unlock options: jump directly to HOME or BACK to the app you were using before the screen went to sleep, or launch one of the supported apps (gmail, calendar, etc). Please see Executive Assistant (Appventive) for more info. You can also run in Welcome Screen mode (instant on after unlock) or as a home screen widget - many sizes, always on wherever you want it.

Ok, so I've tried Lock 2.0 and it works fine, just wasn't exactly what I was looking for and then I tried Lockbot last night.

I was a little skeptical based on some of the reviews in the market. But so far, it has given me exactly what I wanted. You can setup your lockscreen and customize it more than any other lock app I have seen so far. In Lockbot, you have the choice of still using a Hero locksreen or you can setup one that looks like...
iphone
Eclair (looks like Droid)
Flan

Eclair type lockscreen is what I have been looking for all this time. Flan looks interesting too. I was able to set it up the way I want with my own background and could even more the time around on the screen and make other changes as modifications as well! Best of all, so far I have had very little lag. (Knock on wood.) I haven't done a restart since installing so we will see if that changes.

I actually had more lag with Lock 2.0, but it was never very bad.

The only downside to Lockbot is that it is a 3MB app, but after seeing what it can do and what it provides, I'm fine with it. Their is both a free and Pro (pay version) of Lockbot.
 
i'm happy with lockbot free...took a couple attempts to figure it out...with the whole 'menu'->'save' thing, then un-staring the other lock screens that i don't want it to cycle through (which i thought was ******ed, the cycling option).

i haven't tried "executive assistant" but i followed the link and actually looks pretty impressive.

i'll probably take it for a test drive...for one i know i want a mute "button" on my lock screen and i don't see it in the previews.
 
why dont you guys use the pattern lock thats built into the phone. where you have to connect dots in a pattern, so it will unlock? works for me. no butt or pocket dials.
 
I use the stock pattern lock with WaveSecure to lock my phone all the time. The pattern lock comes up first, and if anyone can bypass that, they will hit WaveSecure. I know the pattern lock isn't the prettiest thing out there, but I don't really care about its aesthetics, especially when the screen is turned off.

because i'm not that worried about whats on my phone...the only things i care that no one sees are password protected in a UltraNotes file. everything else doesn't matter: Google voice is my default and gives me unlimited minutes, GV is default for most texting actions, and if it's actually stolen i have one of those apps that lets you track it from the web and send shut-down commands and such.

it's more of a hassle to do the unlock pattern every time than it's worth...plus if i was trying to get past someones pattern lock - i'd just follow the grease trail on the screen!
 
Keep in mind, if someone gets a hold of your phone and its not locked, they have access to EVERYTHING your phone has access to. Your email, calendar, any web sites you saved the logins for.

Root your Hero, remount the filesystem, delete /system/app/HtcLockScreen.*, then reinstall LockBot. It works a billion times better if you do.

I originally tried LockBot ~2-3 weeks ago, but gave up on it because (depending on its mood), it wasn't able to overcome HTC's lockscreen and/or destabilized the rest of the phone due to whatever it had to do to fight with HTC's lockscreen. With HTC's lockscreen gone, it works quite well.

The current version (as of a day or two ago) does have a bug (at least, on the CDMA Hero) -- after you restart, the default Android lockscreen ("menu menu") will push ahead of LockBot (ie, you have to get past the non-HTC Android lockscreen to get at LockBot's lockscreen). HOWEVER, if you reboot, disable Lockbot, then re-enable it, it should work fine again until your next reboot. I'm pretty sure this is just a temporary bug... but in any case, it's still a huge improvement over HTC's lockscreen.

IMHO, half^h^h^h^h most of the problem is due to the fact that the Android (OS) we have today was basically designed for the HTC Dream, with its big, sensible 'menu' button that's a real button... and in the meantime, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, and the rest have freely screwed around with those buttons and implemented them in ways that invalidate some key assumptions made by the people behind Android's development up to this point. I'm personally convinced that these phones are designed by people who never carry them in pockets, or find themselves needing to enter a (memorized) credit card number with one hand to complete a Domino's online order (you can only get 2-for-Tuesday if you order online) while driving 70mph on a freeway.

OH NO! NOT MY CALENDAR! NOT MY BROWSING HISTORY!

I think I'm more concerned that they got my $570 phone. I don't use my phone for banking or anything, though I suppose I'd understand the paranoia if I did.

Like someone mentioned, there's finger grease on the screen that shows your unlock pattern.

Plus, I have apps that can track the phone and lock the phone/dump the phone if necessary. Then again, my phone doesn't leave my waist (where I keep it - my pockets has other gadgets).
