Can't receive texts

I am on 0.9.9.2

I can send text but not receive. I see someone else had this problem and the fix to nandroid back to sprint, update prl profiles and then reflash back to aosp.

Question is: shortly after I got my phone rooted, my SD card totally fried. It is dead. I have to get home and see if I copied it over to my pc, but if I didn't or can't find my sprint backup what do I do?

Flash fresh 2.4 and update your prl and profile there. Or liquid sense both are sense based.

I flashed back to stock...had a hell of a time getting it rooted again for some reason...finally just did it the manual way in ADB and voila. Now, I guess since I have a stock flash, a good backup...hmmm must be time to try some gingerbread.

Z4Root would of rooted your phone in 30 seconds in one click, and you did not have to do that, you simply could of flash a Sense Rom, and been able to update your Profile and Prl, then send a text and once it worked then restore your back up and you would have been good to go

I had the same issue, since last night (maybe earlier actually, not 100% sure) I have not received any texts that were sent to me. I flashed back to the backup I made prior to rooting, I'm running the updates now. My only question is when I'm ready go flash back to my AOSP backup, do I have to wipe davlik or cache?

No need to do so, because when you restore a back up it does that automatically, and before restoring, make sure you are able to send and receive a text first

Nope just restore the nandroid no need to wipe when restoring.

Really embarrassing question. How do I get back into the recovery using the hardware now? The volume down button didnt work and the home button took me into a different screen... I'm drawing a blank here.

I've found that the easiest way is instead of holding the power button and home, just hold home and tap power on until recovery comes up. Sometimes people end up pushing the search button too while holding power.

And holding volume down and power should take you to hboot where you can just hit the home button to get to recovery.

I did get into the Hboot screen and I tried the home button but for whatever reason it wasn't working. It only gave me the option to reset the phone by pressing menu, and pressing and/or holding home did nothing. I pulled the battery and tried it again and it worked.

Now I'm back up & running, texts coming in okay. Thanks for all the help again guys.

I guess I have to dl a Sense Rom and try it, because I went to 2.3.4 CM7 and while it seems awesome and I have all kinds of space for my apps now (fireat mod) I can't get texts again. I am not sure why.

I flashed back to stock, updated PRL and profile and sent and received texts. I restored back to AOSP 0.9.9.2 and sent and received texts. I wiped everything and formatted everything like the CM7 and Fireat mod said to. I can send texts but not receive them.

I tried nandroiding back to 0.9.9.2 and could send but not receive. My PRL is 01115 so it is still from the update I made last night since it was 06something before I did.

Wow...totally strange. Went back to complete unroot stock. Got text messages. Z4root, installed clockwork, nandroid backup. Flash/wipe and restored stock rooted from backup. Wipe/flash, restore 2.3.4 nandroid of last night....VOILLA, I get texts!

The only thing I can think different is I might have forgotten to wipe davlik when I flashed 2.3.4 because I was formatting everything to do the firerat mods.
