Help htc desire google history - how to delete

Hi guys

I'm new to here but if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated.

I can't get my Google history to delete anymore!

I am able to delete it from the widget and wen in browser I have tried going into menu>more>delete history that way BUT when I go back to the widget and just a letter to check if it work when Google opens you can still see my previous searches in a drop down. There used to be a clear history to the right hand side of this drop down but recently this is no longer there meaning I can't delete the previous searches from this drop down.

If anyone can help please post!

Google stores your web history on its own servers. You can delete this by following the links if when using the "Google Search" widget you press the menu button, then "settings" then "google search" then "manage search history". You will have to log in again to your gmail account, and can delete history from there. You could obviously also do this from a PC.
The only drop down suggestions you should then get using the Google Search widget, under the web setting, would be any bookmarks you have saved under the stock browser.

I avoid all this by using Opera Mini. Can't fault it.

Iv tried that and it removes all the history from the previous searches but wen i look something up and i want to do another search whilst already on the current google page, when i tap on the search box and start typing my next search ..for example flowers ... ill type in "f" and all the previous searches i did that started with "f" will show up in the dropdown after i had already deleted the history previously using that exact method you posted.

I dnt knw if iv explained that properly but does that make sense??

Please put me out of my misery lol
 
My fad often uses my phone for the google and I can't get ride of the search history. My phone is an HTC one and I have completely earased my history on google and downloaded apps to clean out every cache but I can still see items in the google drop down. I use a lot of google stuff so I would like to use google search too.
