$36 activation charge- will a store waive it?

If you buy a Sprint phone (Evo 3D) at say BB or Radio Shack (or maybe even the Sprint store?) they charge an activation fee correct? Is this fee waived if you order it from Sprint.com?

I don't believe so. Are you a new customer or just upgrading from an older phone?
 
The store won't, but you may be able to call customer service and get it waived later.

On a side note, this has been discussed in detail in this forum and the sprint forum. Just an fyi.
 
My Sprint store threw in a car charger & found a case that the E3D fit into, to make up for shipping & activation. They did that for my Hero as well.
 
Last year when I bought the Evo 4G, I went on sprint chat and asked the rep if he could waive the activation fee because I was paying a large ETF for coming over to them. Took him 2 minutes and they waived the charge :)
 
I bought my evo shift in a private sale from this forum. I went into the local corporate store, had a nice discussion about rooting with the saleswoman, and she activated my phone for free. I didn't even have to ask. I have never had anything but a good experience there.
 
When I activated I told them I was using a credit union and they waived activation and gave me a 10% discount of my bill

This reminded me; if you are in college tell them where you go to school. I get 10% off my bill just because my school uses Blackboard.

My GF goes to a ghetto ass school that does not use blackboard, and she still gets a student discount of 10 or 15%.


In regards to Sprint and the activation fees, I've been with Sprint about 10 years, and have had at least the same number of phones, I don't think I have ever been charged an activation fee. If you have been charged one, call (and always be extra nice/friendly) and ask to have it removed. If it doesn't work, hang up and try again.
