3D Gameloft HD Games only $4.99

Just wanted let potential EVO 3D owners know that Gameloft is selling 3D HD games for only $4.99. This comes as shock considering all the work they had to do make 3D versions of the popular games. Furthermore its gameloft I thought they would and could milk 3D games for all there worth, this is cheaper than Market priced games. Look at THD games with only slight differences. Regarding the 3D it looks just as good as 3DS games if not better IMHO. Also you can change the level of 3D effect/depth (1 being the lowest 10 being the max) you want mid gameplay because they added a 3D button in the games UI which blends nicely you barely even notice it. Gameloft has been improving with Android in last few month significantly and have to give them credit for that. Still much can be improved but atleast there putting the effort into making quality titles for android and now in market. Now if I can only get them to put EVO 3D on the Order & Chaos compatibility list. Also buy games straight on your phone bill.

I haven't had a chance to download the content for Spiderman that's pre-loaded. I don't see it in the market app, only the other three you listed. Is Spiderman the full game or just a demo?

Its a demo with the full game locked theres an option to buy right in the game through your phone bill. Think you have to switch to 3g to buy on phone bill. No further download necessary after that first big download. Full version is autom atically unlocked when purchased from games main menu.
 
Btw Spiderman works awesome but do not background it, though may just be me. When you background it 3D may stay on when its not suppose too and cause phone to freeze thus battery pull. Gameloft may have missed that. Also I bought Asphalt 6 3D and it crashes after cutscene reinstalling now but already put in a request for gameloft to send me Let's Golf 2 3D just in case ;). Gameloft is great abiut giving u a replacement, now a refund that another matter LOL.
 
I can't see how Asphalt would make a good 3D game, especially with the EVO 3D's limited viewing angle. But I guess if you turn off accelerometer steering and just use on screen buttons it should work.
 
Yeah but one thing I've noticed is games seems to have better viewing angles then pics based off Spiderman, but still can't imagine how good this would work with accelerometer controls. Should of got Lets Golf 2 3D from the beginning. I love little golf games like hotshot etc. bet its beautiful too. Guess I was curious about racing in 3D.

Ya, it probably won't work that great. You can turn the 3D off though, which is nice. The thing that is slightly annoying though is the WVGA graphics they used in order to get the 3D to work correctly...

Of the two games that are actually working, Spiderman has the better 3D effect.

Yeah some people are not good with 3D but its completely optional on the phone. The phone it self is the most powerful on the market. Its basically tied with the Galaxy S 2 but actually should have more support. There shouldn't be nothing this phone can't run.

Until each of the devices go head to head performing the same real world tasks, then there is no fact about which device is better. If you base your assumptions off of the benchmarks, the SGSII is way above any other device.

Yeah its debatable but when compared in several benchmarks you can get an idea. But there are variations. From what I gathered it goes back and forward between E3D, Sensation, and SGII very close. Its your preference for sure but this is the best of the 3 that fits me. Also I'm talking about real benchmarks not Quadrant it can give an idea but its unreliable in its scores. According to Quadrant my Rooted Nook Color is faster. I'm talking about real benchmarks. Example 2 different gl benchmarks frames per seconds test on both processors with same settings. People can cheat scores but its hard to cheat fps with the same settings on a reliable benchmark. The Ipad 2 is close in some benchmarks though plus its running at a higher res. Either way if you got anyone of these devices your set.

You do realize that those tests are taken with the MDP, right? The Mobile Development Platform is a test device that doesn't have a real OS to run (like Android), and it was running at 1.5ghz. Both the E3D and the Sensation are running at 1.2ghz, on top of running Android and Sense in the background, which diminishes performance even more (Not only is the SGSII not listed in the GL Benchmark you posted, but the numbers are technically "fake" since the MSM8660 is not being tested in a real phone). I stand by my original statment that real devices need to be compared to each other in real world situations. I love the E3D because it's a powerful device, that's why I got it. It is not the best on the market though.

I was actually disappointed with spiderman 3d... the gameplay was kind of fun, but the gfx looked horrible in 3D imo. I have a 3DS, so maybe my expectations are a bit unreasonable for Android 3D games... Anyone else have a similar experience with Spiderman and found the other games to look better with 3D? I'm hesitating on pulling the trigger on Asphalt and Let's Golf...

On on another note, I'm impressed with viewing and recording 3D video...
 
I thought the 3D effect for Spiderman was pretty cool, better than Assasin's Creed. I do agree that the GFX for both are subpar for the qHD resolution though. They sacrificed the qHD for the 3D effect.

Yeah Green Hornet looks good don't like movie though. I actually watch slight from the side. Guess everyone's eye are different or its the movie everything I can see 3D best from the front. To me Spiderman Looks awesome in 3D and not hard on the eyes. But yeah 3DS has very high depth looking games but $5 vs $40-50. Also don't get Asphalt 6 doesnt work play video then crashes I've tried several times on two EVO 3Ds.

Update: just bought Nova 3D it works good as well. I wish they upgrade the graphics but its good to have in the collection. Really want Nova 2 since haven't beat that one yet.

ah, that explains why it looks below average to me then... i keep hearing theyre using the wvga version, which is a shame.

thanks for the heads up, definitely not going to buy if it crashes. Have you tried let's golf 3d yet? From my experience, sports games make great 3d titles... hopefully it works well with e3d.

Thanks for the heads up downloading Asphalts data again now. The more I learn this phone the more I feel 3D is cool extra and not a gimmick like some people think. I took some 3D pics of my 2 dogs & a cat looking at me they look so alive almost like I can pick them up out of the phone and that alone is priceless.
 
Wow Asphalt 6 looks amazing in 3D Crystal clear. They did great not too much not too little. Very high quality for $5 bucks. This will save me from buying a 3ds racing game unless it Mario Kart. I think I will be buying Let's Golf 2 3D and Nova 3D right now. If they can do a racing game this good they earned my respect. Also considering I would of paid atleast $40 for one 3DS game this is a steal. 5 3D games for $25 ain't bad.

As stated by Vanquish Asphalt 6 3D works now nd it looks outstanding in 3D. Also just start playing Let's Golf 2 and looks incredible in 3D as well. The realistic course graphics go well with it & the UI pops out screen niclely. To be honest I'm shocked by how well these games look especially Asphalt since its a very fast racing game. They look way better than Spiderman and that looked good to me but I think Spiderman is great looking for what it is since they took comic book style graphics and gave it depth.

Update: Just got Nova 3D it looks great but I wish they could up the graphics even more I can only imagine how good it can look now. Its still great to have in the collection in and feels different playing in 3D looks cooler too once you adjust it too your liking. Really want Nova 2 since I havent beat that one yet.

Yeah, I dislike when people call 3D a gimmick... Some of us think it enhances the experience because it adds much needed depth to certain games. If I can play with better perception of depth, you won't find me playing in 2D. That to me is not something you call a gimmick. Gimmick seems like a negative term... It's one thing to point out the negatives, like the poor viewing angles, it's another to completely discredit what it's able to do by saying it's "like the holographic baseball card" effect. I'm beginning to think people either have not experienced glasses-free 3d or their eyes are deceiving them.

Have you checked out videos from youtube.com/3d? Some of them aren't properly fit for the 3d screen on the e3d, but others look amazing. Check out the one called ocean circus 3d under the nature playlist - the fish/turtle look touchable.

How do you watch them in 3D?

Nevermind figured it out. Use jetvd apps to download YouTube 3D videos then use 3D player from Gallery to watch. Amazing feature for the phone.

you know you can just watch them directly in the evo 3d youtube app right? just turn to landscape and it goes to 3d automatically... no need to download, though that could be useful to show people later on.

Yeah I've figured out the phone pretty good now. Highly impressed with the 3D quality of the phone once you know what you're doing. Thanks though. Loving the 3D games Let's Golf 2 3D is amazing.
