ETA for Gingerbread 2.3 on Orange - Available Now

I am.... I think we're the last in the line (as always) for an update!!

I dont know why HTC don't insist on operator standards with their phones... simultaneous roll out....

and Bloatware should be removable without rooting!

I agree... it's about time!!

I actually think that Three have not had the update yet, so Orange aren't last (for once)!

I'm actually rooted, so this doesn't affect me, but nice to know that Orange have finished with adding their rubbish!

There are a lot of under the hood changes too. Hopefully, you'll see an increase in battery life.

Aaaaaargh.... So far (apart from the obvious cosmetic changes) all gingerbread is doing for me is resending ALL my old mms messages from when time began.. so far it has racked up over 40,(which Orange say they'll compensate)... Anyone else having this issue?

It shouldn't, but there are no guarantees. I've heard that it can cause certain settings to reset, but no one has lost files or anything major like that.

Just installed the update to 2.3, on Orange, and when it was all done, it's frozen at the lock screen! You can't swipe to unlock or even turn the phone off. I did the reboot (lock button and volume +/-) but when the phone has restarted all that happens is that it goes back to the frozen lock screen. Anyone have any ideas?

July 20th and still I wait..... I'd love to know how the other un rooted guys have had their update? Not literally how but what criteria they have met in order for Orange to select them.
Length of Contract served? Length of contract remaining? Location? I wonder? Or are they telling us porkies?

I believe that it's done by IMEI, but don't quote me on that... also - I notice that it says that you have a "HTC Desire. Orange Branded to Death"... I'm sure I read somewhere that GB wasn't coming to the Desire... to be fair though, I did read taht it was coming to the Desire, so I don't know what to believe!!

Are we talking 2.3.3? If so Orange sent the update out over a month ago...
