if the Droid Charge gets gingerbread before the htc thunderbolt... goodbye thunderbolt

HTC and Verizon promised an update in Q2 of June which ends in 3 days. I wouldn't trash the Thunderbolt given it's the best phone to have right now. Relax, you'll get your update soon so quit being impatient or root your phone and get DasBamf. Either way don't complain about the Thunderbolt on here, do that to Verizon. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the ToS *allows* complaining. You'll just have to deal with the whinging, I think, or just not read the posts it they're that offensive to you.

I'm stepping away from the TB as well. I don't blame the OP for being frustrated with it, and Gingerbread on the Charge, which is a newer phone, would certainly annoy me if I were of the mind to keep the TB, which I am NOT.

In any event, I DO hope the Charge and the TB get Gingerbread soon.
 
GB is available for the TB, it just needs to be rooted first. That's really not that hard, nor is it that risky. The fact that the code is out there also implies that Verizon is at fault here, not HTC. I have no horse in this race, what you do with your TB isn't my business. I'm just saying...
 
BTW, I think I've had 1 reboot with my phone in the 2 months I've owned it- but then again I'm rooted & on DasBAMF 1.7
 
If it's anything like rooting other Android devices, you can download the ROM straight from the phone and then flash it off the SD after rebooting into recovery.

Edit: Or apparently you may need a ROM manager... of some sort. ;)

Yes, that too, but Rom Manager Pro makes it a little easier.
 
And I guess if the bolt gets ice cream first you will be back.:rolleyes:.

I don't care.who gets what.first. just as long at it gets gb.

I got best buys buy back program. 50% back within 6 months :) and I'm complaining because I spent a lot of money on this and I use it everyday
 
And I was thinking of rooting but I don't know what it really gives me. Some one persuade me? :)
 
I admit it. I am one of those guys who likes to get things first. I pay extra to get my oil changed, I pay to launder my shirts, I even pay extra to get the newest most bad ass phone that I can. But I must say that it does really grind my gears when I dole out all of this extra cash and I see posts about other phones getting updates before mine. I mean how do Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid 2, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix all get hulu before I do? Is Verizon telling me that I should spend less money on a phone? Now I know what is coming. "Just root your phone and you can have GB." Two problems 1) First I dont think I should have to. I rooted my og droid so I know how to do it but I shouldnt have to. If the file is out there why should I have to go find it. Verizon has no problem finding me when it comes time for me to pay my bill now do they.2) I have no p.c. and with my tb do not see a reason to get one.

I didn't even realize THUNDERBOLT. CHARGE. lol two electric phones. Why didn't verizon brand the TB as a DROID and launch these side by side in some sort of lightning fast 4G campaign. The Bolt and the Charge. Sounds perfect.
