Root battery life and 'display'

HTC sense is a user interface firstly (but much more than that, its a framework) htc widgest like "friendstream" and "people" will not work on AOSP roms (roms without sense).

Alternative launcher's such as Launcherpro have replacement apps for this.

Err, yes you can link contacts with facebook and gmail and pictures, sure.

i just downloaded and installed launcherpro to see what differences there were. it said installed, but i cant find it to open. i imagine its not that easy as it would change the whole look of the phones home screens? so is there a trick to using it?

thanks

You cant "open" it. You have to press home and it will ask you which launcher to use.

ah yep, thanks again :-)

read reviews on launcherpro which raved about it, but i cant see any advantages myself. only 3 screens instead of 5. the apps scroll vertically rather than across which i like better, but apart from that......
maybe im just not knowledgeable enough to understand whats maybe going on behind the scenes?

Theres loads of settings. Check out homescreen transitions, 3 dock scrolling icons, anywhere between 3 and 7 screens, widgets.

I actually prefer Go Laucnher Ex now. I find it smoother. Got 10 screens on there. Not sure if there is a limit.

ah yep, thats the one ive got anyway. now ive had a play with the settings, there really doesnt seem to be much difference between them. theyre both quite 'customisable' and do the same things if you ask them to. thanks for the help.

That's 11.4% of total battery use, on display. 2.7% per minute. What settings is that it does seem pretty high.

It's true that I use it to 100% brightness. I tried Auto, but when I go outside it seems that it doesn't autoajust, I see almost nothing...
But even on max brightness, I find a little strange that the screen can suck so much energy... Another measurement today:
8h 26min since unplugged
Battery status: 49 %
Display 68% (used 10m 14s).

so 34% of battery drained in 10 minutes???

How can I exactly know... I suppose it, because I wake it up few times to answer to some calls and to check some settings. Seems to be correct.
