Hey guys...

I'm new to the forums and just got my first smartphone...the Droid Charge!!!

Getting used to the phone etc. but had a few questions on how to get the most out of my battery life. I currently have GPS, Mobile Data and Auto Rotation always on.

Is there a reason to have GPS on all the time? and what exactly is the Mobile Data??

Sorry if these are dumb questions... I'm new!

Turn off the gps.

No dumb questions here...

You can turn off GPS, it is easy to turn on should you want to use it for navigation or something like that.

Mobile Data is basically turning on/off the portion of your phone that handles everything except phone calls. IE: email, sms, mms, etc. so you should leave it on unless you really need to conserve battery.

I forgot what the auto-rotate is, so I leave mine on.

Hope this helps.

auto rotate is the feature than automatically turn the screen Potrait or landscape depending how hold it(standing up (potrait) or laying down LAndscape))

Thanks guys, i appreciate it.

Any other tips to conserve battery life? Does the brightness make a big difference? anything else you can think of?

Brightness will make a big difference, keep the brightness as low as you can stand for your lighting conditions.
