Hello this is Evan from Verizon NRB,

I will be getting more details on the situation tomorrow. The Dev team is a different department from mine so I have to go over and ask around during my break. Will post back what I find at the end of the day tomorrow.

Hey Evan, Me and my brother just received the OTA update!!! How did this happen if they have not released it yet...

This is torture/comedy.

Oh, it's hurts so good!

On HTC's Facebook feed, they posted this today.
Hi all- We're excited to share that we are testing our build of Gingerbread for HTC Desire and will start doing quality assurance for it this week. When we have an update on availability we'll post another announcement. Thanks for your support!

I don't recall seeing something like this before for the Incredible. Is that a bad omen?

Verizon doesn't DO development on the OS builds for their phones; the phone manufacturers do. Perhaps you meant the Testing Department?

This thread reminds me of the O.T.A update last year and the froyo thread by MW. Haven't we learned anything from the past?

MW was actually a Verizon employee, who had ACTUAL insider information. Verizon just pushed the date back to make some changes.

But its a holiday! Think of the Bunnies! Will no one think of the Bunnies?!?!

Trust me you have absolutely no idea. We have an entire Dev team here that works on and debugs Android based images based on our network needs and design, all HTC does is integrate Sense into the Android OS.

Is that the same dev team that puts all the verizon bloatware on every single phone?

So instead of waiting for 2.3, I flashed to Cyanogen. Smooooooooottttthhhhh. Sense UI is admittedly prettier right out of the gate... but not having 5 or 6 bloatware services running makes me a happy bunny eating vampire. And I'm sure I'm just clueless when it comes to customization since I'm new to CM, but I'm sure there's no going back. =D

CM7 and MIUI are always going to be light years ahead of stock sense. If you want customizing. Try MIUI. So sick. Otherwise I used to use CM7 with LPP

Trust you? Are you freaking kidding me?!?

Dear Ryan ••••••,

I understand that you would like to know when the Gingerbread update will be available for the Droid Incredible. Initially the update was scheduled for the second quarter but has been pushed back to sometime this summer. Unfortunately, we do not have an exact date yet. Once we have more concrete information it will be posted to our website or official social network outlets HTC Facebook and HTC Twitter.

Not to say that HTC reps are extremely reliable... =/

Hello this is Evan from Verizon NRB,

HTC and their Customer Service Dept. have no authority or knowledge as to when Verizon decides to push updates. Once the basic image is received from HTC it is out of their hands.

Hello this is Evan from Verizon NRB,

Unfortunately with the holiday weekend coming the update has been scheduled for July 11th now. There are a significant number of employees taking off next week and managers stated that they require an X number of employees through out the week on hand during these update rollouts. July 11th has now been confirmed to be launch date. All systems for the update push have been tested without errors so everything is 100% prepared now unlike the other week.

and for the record, I found out that the reason the update was cancelled last time was because of an issue updating phones which were still running 2.1. This issue has been resolved though.

I'm not trying to be rude but, it seems that Verizon has no idea either. As you've come on this thread multiple times, promising the release of gingerbread, yet nobody had managed to get it. And also, if I'm not mistaken, you said you had some information for us that you were supposed to get today?

EDIT: We posted at the same time, therefore the last part of my statement makes no sense. But... I've seen AT LEAST 2 times where you've posted it was coming before. So, I'm not 100% sure if I believe you. Again, not trying to sound rude. However if GB, does come then, your name is cleared!

Cheers

Are you serious? We already knew GB was coming. Both HTC and Verizon confirmed it. As for the date, he's come in and said "it will launch this week" three times now. If he does this every week, he will eventually be right. How does that make him cleared? As someone else said, a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Hello,

I am sorry you feel this way. I want the GB image as much as you do. Even VZW employees dont get it before hand on their personal phones and there is no way Im going to try to "leak" it as I would be fired and dont even have access to it other than the test unit we have here which we are required to sign out every single time we even touch it. Remember I am in the since I am in the NRB Dept. not Dev.

Can Evan2ac just be banned already? Or at least given a vacation to suspended login land? This is really getting tiresome.

Like medion and someone else said: clock. right 2 times/day

Sorry but I have no idea how they ban a guy who seriously COULD be genuine.

Do I believe him? Nope. Am I happy
He is here to entertain. Yup.

Alright, I'll play along. Since you said you "won't" leak it, this implies that you "could" leak it. Please navigate to the build.prop and tell me the build date on the ROM. That would give me a LOT of useful info.

What I meant, was if it came on the 11th. He easily could be from verizon, and they could be pushing it back like Evan says
