Root Someone please help me root

i want to root my revo really bad, but in the past ive just use z4 root (droid x) now i have to input commands and download sdk's and blah blah im so new to this could someone help walk me through this?

What will rooting the Revo do? Can we root to 2.3 because I see the new Skype video chat for phones that is starting to release they said you need 2.3 or higher. Cant win, buy new phones and find out you need something else
 
I have no burning need to root now, so I'll wait until Gingerbread is released for this phone by the manufacturer (if ever). Then, I'll root and freeze all the bloatware apps I don't need or want and fine tune the phone the way I'll likely leave it until it's replaced. - MarkC
 
I did it the above way. One thing to make sure is that all of the drivers are installed properly before you start. It took me longer to make sure the computer and the phone were talking than the actually rooting.

I did it just to get rid of the bloatware. Bing does not belong on an android!

yup. recovery and root are pretty simple right now. Took no time at all if you read and follow the directions.
