Triacom

Lurker
I have a new atrix and im unable to send email. the configuration of the account is fine. i can receive but i can't send any email. Each time it says that the message not send authentification sending error... i use the port 25 for the outgoing server and i read on the forum that maybe some provider block this port ? any idea ? i try k-9 for pure and i cant receive email.. ? what are u using with the atrix ?

I have a similar problem with my new atrix. I can receive my Telus email but I can't send. My Gmail works for both send and receive but not Telus. Called Bell tech support and they say it is a Motorola problem and they are waiting for a patch. You'd think this would be a priority as email is vital for most people. Does anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem. when you create a new mail "account", instead of choosing one of the brand-name email clients like yahoo etc,, just pick the generic email icon that just says "email" with an icon that likes like a "@" and choose to configure it manually during the creation menus. That worked for me. My issue was with Yahoo mail. It would only send email over my mobile ISP but not over WiFi. So I set of my connection to Yahoo mail using the generic email account.

I did choose the @ for email. it still will not allow me to SEND emails from any of my accounts. Any suggestion on who to contact on Motorola or Android?

I have this same issue. I also have used the @ symbol... I have 4 email accounts all sending and receiveing.. This single account can recieve but not send... The guy who hosts my web site says this..

"STARTTLS must been turned off and set to NONE"

I have no idea how to do this.. He said its some sort of security setting on the outgoing side.. Dunnoo but need to find out..

Turn off the wi-fi.

I'm having the same problem trying to send from my Rogers Yahoo! account. It always receives, but will send e-mail only when the wi-fi is off. My GMail account works either way.

The cynic in me believes that this is an evil plot by Bell Canada to make Rogers internet users use their data plan to send e-mail from the Rogers account instead of free wi-fi. A penalty for not being completely loyal to Ma Bell.

Got my Atrix 2 days ago... still trying to figure it all out.

So, after about a 45 minute discussion with a Telus rep, (who was so useless, she couldnt even read the script that was infront of her correctly) I found out that the issue is not resolved and the problem could be on either end.

I had a blackberry just before the Atrix and had no issued configuring my email. It turns out that the Atrix just doesnt like the Telus server. I have 2 gmail accounts and a bell account and none of them have any issues.

Long story short, when I need to respond to a Telus email, I have to wait to get to a computer or go online on the phone and log into my webmail account.

Has anyone found a solution yet?

Having the same issue with my roadrunner email account. I can receive no problem, but none of my outgoing works. GMail works perfect as you would expect. Any recommendations on a non-native third party non-exchange email client on the market?

I had the same problem and I found this on Motorola's website (Either remove the “CRAM-MD5” portion of the “250- AUTH LOGIN CRAM-MD5 PLAIN“server reply message, or enable the CRAM-MD5 options on the server.)

However I couldn't seem to get my email provider to do this so I turned off the ssl and certificate verification only on the outgoing serverand that worked for me.

I have had my AT&T Arix 4G for only one week and I am still figuring it out. When I configured email I used the gmail option and I receive gmail regularly. I can reply to these emails and if I go through my contacts widget I can originate email to anybody in my contacts that has an email addy listed.

The problem is that I have not discovered how to originate an email in the gmail app if I would be manually entering addresses. What I mean, and maybe I am just blind, is I do not see a button anywhere in the gmail app to create new email. So I am not able to send new mail to anyone. Can anyone provide the answer?

If you open gmail, hit the menu button at the lower left corner, you get a pop-up with six options, choose Compose and you're taken to a screen where you type in the email address you want it sent to.
