Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

I had no problem setting it as my default, I just held down the camera button and it asked me which app I wanted to open and I selected it as default, I also had Camera360 installed so it gave me the three options. I would think you could also go in to camera and remove the default setting.
 
Ah ****. Do these nightlies have to be installed in order or something? I skipped from 13 to 16, and now my phone is stuck at the moto logo screen...

I couldn't get mine to default to miui so I just froze the system camera in TiBu. Renaming the camera apk in system would do the same thing.

thanks, of course i didn't look by the camera [slap forehead], i was looking for an app called MIUI in the app drawer.

clear defaults is greyed out cant remove it. i dont get the prompt when starting up the camera for which app to make default.
 
Ok, so after SBF'ing a few times and panicking, I think I've narrowed down the issue. Nightly number 16 just doesn't seem to work at all. Always gets stuck at the moto screen. 15 works great though.

worked fine for me.
it was actually the better ones on my phone.
on 17 now. seems ok so far, but loaded it only an hour ago.

I've loaded every nightly since 9 and had no problems loading them
 
If anyone took a look at the upcoming nightly, there is a LOT of fixes. Unfortunately, they aren't the ones that we are looking for (video, camcorder, etc.) Nevertheless, there are a lot good changes planned, and some I can't tell what they are planning to do (LED color changes).

I guess Opera didn't download the .zip properly, since it seems I'm the only one with the problem. I'm not gonna bother trying it again, but 17 is working fine for me. It was just a bit of a scare when my phone got stuck at the screen.

How has your battery life been since you load all the nightlies?

I only flashed a few days ago but have been flashing the nightlies.

You know I didn't believe what everyone said, but it seems they were correct.
the 1st few days my battery life sucked.
and i'm on a new nightly every morning. so i figured it was just something i have to deal with.
today it's been doing good.. idk if it's # 17 or if it just takes a few days.

tbh that doesn't really make sense to me, but today was a good day (battery life wise) and i used it pretty heavily.
 
Yeah mine is still kinda sucking. I flashed 17 tonight. Maybe I will leave it on that build for a few days to see how it is.

I recommend everyone has a look at #18's Changelog.
Its a lengthy one. (No camera is NOT fixed, major fixes will most likely be announced by @cvpcs)

All camcorder modes work, but the "high" setting records in 480p instead of 720p.

Is there a way to set the camera button to launch another camera app, rather than the one it comes with? I don't see any options in the settings for it anywhere.
 
Nightly #18 is a fail!

It broke my google account (no way to add it)

Broke market, lost apps, lost contacts.

Googd thing I nandroided... I'm going back to my nandroid from nightly #16 when everything was fine and dandy sans camcorder + sans good battery life :(

It's working fine for me, did you make sure the MD5 matched up before installing it?
 
Yeah, well I skipped from #16 to #18 with only wiping dalvik cache is that the issue? Idk, I guess I'll just wait till nightly #19 or #20 or something

I went from 16 to 18 wiping dalvik, with no problems.
What was your download method of 18?
16?

I just came from #15 to #18 with no problems but I'll probably be going back to GB since the battery life over the past couple of days has been horrible compared to stock GB.
