Help phone is sending texts to people multiple times

Hello, I just got my TB off ebay and love it. Problem is that when people are getting my texts they tell me they are getting them 2-3 times. I have tried a factory reset , pulled the battery and to no avail. I have gone back to my iphone until I can figure this out and was hoping I could get some help on here.

is it actually showing on your phone that it's sending multiple times?

i've had this happen on occasion and it's usually due to a network error. never lasted more than a couple days and then goes back to normal. quite often i get multiple texts of the same message from other carriers, as well.

No, I use handcent and also have tried to use the stock message app, it only shows that it sent once on my TB.

I used to have that problem on my D1 and rebooting usally fixed it

I got my tb right after release and I have had this problem every so often. I'm using handcent and also try the stock when people tell me they are getting my texts multiple times. I have not found a fix for it yet.

It was happening both before and after the ota

This happened to me as well today. I'm using Go SMS. First time that I'm aware of since I got my Tbolt in March.

Wonder if this a verizon network problem then and not the TB?

This happened to me all of a sudden. It sent everyone exactly three. I was told to pull off any SMS apps. I was not using one. Called Verizon and there was some sort of issue with the line and they fixed it

My friend has verizon and he sends me a text but it comes two to three times as repeat texts....

Has it worked ok since then?

Been happening last three days. Network seems odd in nyc last few days. Maube thats all it is. Mever hsd problem with stock sms before

I had that problem, too (with handcent). I tried everything, including checking prevent resending messages after reboot in settings. No luck with that. I installed and reinstalled handcent from scratch (nothing restored through titanium backup - only sms backup restored in the main messaging app).

It's been about 4 days, and so far so good (knock on wood)
