Help problem with snowstorm - keeps defaulting to essex meadows?

i added snowstorm, but it won't go to show the weather from my area. i turned gps on, i have it to sync, and i went through the menu and added my area (chesapeake, va). however, it only shows weather for essex meadows?

has anyone else had that problem? do you know how to fix it?

and is there a better weather widget?

You could try telling it to always use the url, then set that to your preferred location. I generally leave it set to just give me the weather at home except when I am travelling.

i did put it for the URL and it says it was using that. if i click snowstorm my weather will come up, but the widget still shows essex meadows. i hate it. haha.

How far is Essex Meadows from you? You could try 'Snap to larger places' in Global Settings or try manually refreshing it.

oh my gosh, i'm an idiot. essex meadows is a retirement community near my (never had heard of it before. i assumed essex meadows was in england, HAHA. goodness i'm ignorant). is there a way to change it so it only says 'chesapeake'?

i like snowstorm because of the actual look and that i don't get notifications (with weatherbug, it was ridiculous - although, i liked the look a lot).

As Sak01 says, you could try playing with the "Global" settings. I have "Snap to larger places" ticked, "Use GPS" off, and under Widget settings "Use YR URL" and "Fallback to Yr URL" both ticked. "Use YR URL" should force it to display the correct location, but maybe one of these others is important too. I set the URL to my home location by searching by name, rather than "use current location".

But I'm impressed that it can be that precise with the location! ;)
